Tomorrow is the last day to nominate artists. After tomorrow, I'll no longer be accepting nominations and will compile the list based on the number of nominations each artist has received. You may use this thread to discuss how the list should be compiled in the event of ties and whatnot.

I'd like to nominate both Mozart and Bach, just to get two classical composers in the mix.

I think that a tie should be voted on. You can just ask people to vote on who they think deserves to be rated higher between the artists with a tie. After that you can rank them accordingly.

Like a Music Deathmatch? Michael Jackson vs. Madonna! David Bowie vs. Bob Dylan! The Rolling Stones vs. The Beatles!

I like it.

Anyone who would pick Madonna over Michael Jackson will be suplexed by Magilla Gorilla.

Except for Mr. Peebles, he don't like primates. Magilla Gorilla just isn't the mammal with whom he relate.

Not enough of you are saying The Smiths. Do you all want me to turn into a gianty, whiny emo crybaby like Morrisey? Is that what you want?! Cause I'll do it!!!

Every day is like Sunday...

AC/DC
The Beatles
The Clash
Depeche Mode

The Hype's Greatest 100 Musical Artists of All Time
Okay I have compiled the list and I will eliminate all the single nominations because there were more than enough artists who had 2 or more nominations. The Top 5 have been determined, but after that it's multiple ties. As of now, I have 53 artists who need to fill 46 slots on the list. You guys get to decide which 7 should be eliminated and how they should rank from 54 - 100. Now vote:

Janis Joplin
Etta James
Chuck Berry
Jamiroquai
Sam Cooke
Miles Davis
Nat King Cole
Cyndi Lauper
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Colbie Caillat

I think my choices have already been well reflected in the voting and I've given enough weight to the obvious choices who have been around since before I was born. The only 3 I want to elevate further are:

Coldplay
Dr Dre
Snoop Dogg

And I'll include these 2 as I meant to nominate them first time round but forgot to come back to the thread:

Beyonce
Christina Aguilera

Edit: btw sorry haven't got time to rank everyone else so just give all the above a +1 in the order listed and I'll let everyone else do the eliminating.
