What do you guys think of this?:
Hulk TV Show in the Works

I just hope the budget can cover the CGI Hulk and effects. Don't wanna see another guy in body paint or prosthetics and the CGI better be good

Eh, I should probably take that back. He wasn't bad, he was just mis-cast. I still like the movie, but Bana is not my favorite thing about it for sure.

Yeah I thought they could have cast "Krenzler" a little better, myself. I always thought EB sounded like he was trying too hard to mask his Aussie accent.

I like him in everything I've seen him in so far especially Black Hawk Down, total badass.

Can't say I'm pleased to see that (if it's true). The old TV series seems to have somehow left a permanant impression on how any live action adaptation of the Hulk is made: ie: 40 minute show, about 35 minutes of it is Banner 'on the run', using aliases and getting himself into trouble, and about five minutes worth of the title character putting in an appearance twice an episode.

Of cource, Tv budgets and fx today can allow for a better Hulk than what we had before, but I get the feeling if they do go ahead we are in for a retread of the Bixby/Ferrigno formula (basically the same model as 'The Fugitive' but with a big green guy saving the day). Even with advances in fx, to do the Hulk really well (and his villains) will cost a lot of money than a TV budget currently allows.

To be fair, Bana's performance was affected greatly by Ang Lee's muddled direction: He had the actors doing the same scenes several times over and over again, making them perform the scenes in different ways, telling to them go from 'muted' to overly dramatic, etc.
Bana even joked about that saying that after that hassle, Lee didn't use any of the stuff where he felt he'd put his best work in! (also explains why Connolly acted liked she was on a nice dose of Valium in damn near every scene).

If they ponied up the dough I'll bet he would. It's an excellently secure job opportunity as well, the only problem being he doesn't exactly struggle to find work in the movie business either. But if Avengers and this new show pull it off and are successful, it could give him that boost to super stardom. If they offered, I think he'd at least consider it and weigh his options.

And that'd be very, very cool if he did, too.

Ruffalo said in an interview with Empire that playing Hulk/Banner isn't gonna break or make his career because he says he is happy with the success he has. So I don't think "super stardom" is a big thing for him.

Generally, movie stars do not like 'stepping down' to Tv series (Usually you have Tv stars trying to get into the movies). It's not just the stardom factor, you also have money and amount of work involved (Tv actors have to do a lot more work for less money).

With that in mind I doubt Ruffalo would do it. I also suspect the TV show, if they go ahead with it, will probably not be tied to the movies and will be more of a remake of the Bixby/Ferrigno version. It's not that TV shows cannot do impressive CGI effects these days, it's that the CGI for humanoid characters is still hard to pull off for mega bucks movies. I just cannot see a Tv show budget making the investment to do the Hulk as most fans would like.

Mark Ruffalo is convinced the Hulk has already given him a massive career boost, because his Hollywood profile has rocketed since he agreed to tackle the superhero role.

The 42-year-old actor is set to replace Edward Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner and his monstrous alter-ego in new movie The Avengers, and the part has already helped him get the greenlight for his less high profile projects.

And Ruffalo admits he's stunned by the reaction of movie bosses to the casting news as he hasn't even started filming The Avengers yet. He explains, "Honestly, just consider Second Coming, which I am doing with Marion Cotillard. It was completely dead, and then they announced that I had got The Avengers, literally a couple of hours later the finance was pushed through. How cool is that?

"I know some people don't associate me with these really big productions. I generally prefer the rough and tumble of smaller filmmaking, but this was such an opportunity."

I'd rather them not do a show (there's a million ways for them to screw it up, but only one way to do it right), but if they have to do a TV show, I'd rather it be something like an HBO or Showtime show starring Sharlto Copley as Banner or even maybe David Duchovny.

Nice, it'll be fun to his and RDJ's chemistry. And it's awesome that RDJ is sort of coaching him through it.

LOL @ Chewy Tick Tick Boom! My Fav quote so far "Hulk Smash Rock, Einstein"

Good to hear. His chemistry with RDJ was already great in Zodiac so I'm looking forward to that interaction.

I'm willing to give Ruffalo all the fan support I can. Was I upset that Norton didn't come back? Yes, but I've made peace with it and moved on since I just can't see the loss of any one actor being enough reason to give up on the whole Avengers movie. The movie's more important, IMO.

And I have liked to one extent or another all 3 actors who have ever played Banner in live action. Does this mean that any of them were really nailing down Bruce Banner as he is in the comics? Not really. So here's hoping that Ruffalo decides(with Whedon's blessing of course) to give us comic book Bruce Banner this time rather than some variation of TV show Banner.

Of course one of the things that is so differentiating about comic book Banner is how he interacts/reacts to the Hulk and in order to do this right, hulk is gonna have to basically be comic book Hulk(WHO IS A FREAKIN" CHARACTER IN HIS OWN RIGHT!) to make this work. I wanna see some Jeckyll & Hyde type psychological stuff happen. Sure, can't be too much since this isn't just a Hulk movie but they can show it in there somewhere.

Does anyone else know here if they're actually going to reference that Mark's version of Bruce Banner had experienced the events of TIH or are they going to try portray Mark's version as a whole new banner who didn't go through those events?

Same banner, different actor. I'm sure they'll find a way to tie TIH with avengers.
