As far as "looking emo" goes, keep in mind that the symbiote inflates Peter's ego and pride. He basically thinks he's the ****, but being the dork that he is, he thinks looking cool means looking like Fallout Boy.

Yeah, that's how I always thought his agression was working. When he wasn't full of rage and hate, he was being assertive with his life. So when he's in the symbiote he's not "cool", he's just an assertive nerd.

Wow. I wanted to love this but cannot...

This movie was like a sitcom reunion where the cast reprises their roles after years, but only come of as shadows of their former self... Mockeries...

The comic book franchises are learning the hard way what a slippery slope utilizing too many characters in one movie is.

We did not need Venom. Who the **** was Venom in this?

Venom was forced on Ramai ha needed his own movie later on with a different director. The whole Venom story occured during a different era in Spidey as it is. Shouldve been Lizard and maybe Sandman or Vulture.

The scene where Venom finds Sandman and somehow knows Sandmans whole deal and relationship with Spiderman even though he had never even met him?
That was the most rediculous thing I've ever seen. That 30 seconds proved to me what a joke the whole idea of Venom even being in this movie was.

The hero losing his innocense... It dont work... Not in Superman and not in Spiderman. Its a fun concept hypothetically, but in the end it taints everything.

They didnt even try to utilize the JJ son and MJ issue. It was just ignored... Coudve been great. I wonder if the cast and filmakers realize all these things...

Characters fighting side by side and with fantastic chemistry even though its he first time theyve ever worked together?

Too many coincidences and too many "matter of facts" I couldnt suspend my disbelief the way this movie demanded....

Effects were amazing. Awesome! Some of the best ever. Too bad none of that mattered because the meaning behind it all was tarnished beyond repair.
I dont care how cool something looks if I dont care about the characters and the motivation behind whats happening it might as well not occur...

There are other things.... Tons.. But I just got home from the movie and I think Ive gotten out enough for now...

Except we didnt see how Venom knew everything. Its common sense to the fans yes, who might I add are the minority of the movie audiences. So therefore when its not explained, a regular casual movie goer is gonna say "How the hell did he know about _____?". Therefore its a plot hole.

-Reporter and those two kids during the final fight.
-Butler scene.
-Jazz scene.
-Harry getting amnesia.
-Sandman flying.
-Giant Sandman.

-Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer.
-Crane scene.
What they should of put in was:
-Harry in a Goblin costume (Hobgoblin).
-Harry becoming a quadriplegic after he gets clotheslined.
-So Harry finds other ways to attack Peter,like he:
1.Creates Sandman to kill Spider-Man.(When Sandman asks Harry how does he find Spider-Man,have Harry tell him to commit a crime).

2.Harry also ruins Pete and MJ's realationship and Peter with the symbiote on does his part as well,where MJ ends up leaving town thinking it would be best if her and Pete took a break for awhile(Have her go to Hollywood to try and become an actress,and have her stay gone until SM5).
-Give Eddie Brock tons of character development.
-Show Black Spider-Man taking out regular criminals in very brutal ways.
-Different actress to play MJ.
-Sandman finds spidey by committing a crime at a museum by stealing a valuable object that trips the alarms where black spidey shows up.Fight takes place in the museum where Sandman and black spidey destroy everything inside as they fight each other.
^
Then have the fight take place out on the streets until black spidey rips open a fire hydrant on the sidewalk and sprays a gush of water at Sandman causing Sandman to run across the street to a construction site where a huge fight takes place there,and doesn't end until black spidey ends up pouring wet cement onto Sandman,putting an end to him.
-Show Harry able to move parts of his body as the movie goes by.
-Have black spidey decide to pay his quadriplegic friend a visit for ruining his realtionship with MJ,and for creating Sandman to try and kill him.
-Have Harry be all healed up before black spidey shows up.
-Have Harry in the Goblin's lair as the alarm goes off and Harry sees on a monitor that black spidey is the intruder.
-Black spidey doesn't know where the Goblin's lair is,so as black spidey is looking for Harry,Harry is suiting up in his Goblin gear.

-Have Peter take off the symbiote because he realizes what the symbiote has done,it has made MJ break up with him and leave town,it made him kill Sandman and Harry(So he thinks),Aunt May is in the hospital fighting for her life.
-Eddie Brock becoming Venom being the last shot of the movie....

Raimi's biggest mistake was the underdevelopment of Eddie Brock/Venom.

Since there's no way to properly develop him unless he's the focus of the film, I think it's safe to say Raimi's biggest mistake was being talked into using Venom.

All the energy and time they spent on making Sandy a better villain should have been used on developing Eddie/Venom. I think he is a much more interesting character. They just should have left out Sandy.

Raimi and Maguire had both said in interviews, Wizard Magazine, and the like that Sandman was their personal favorite supervillain. That's why they put him in, and that's why he was allowed to walk off into the sunset while the Big Three were killed off.

I've always said that if Octopus were their personal favorite, they would've found a way to drag his sorry tentacled butt out of the Hudson.

And what's with Sandy's whole backstory? The wife, the sick kid? I can imagine Raimi at some Sony meeting saying something like, "Let's make Sandman a good guy at heart! A misunderstood crook! I mean, look at Spider-Man 2, everyone loved it when we made Dr. Octavius a sympathetic character!" Difference is, Molina as a sympathetic Octavius worked. This sucked. And sucked hard.

Sam Raimi owes me seven and a half bucks.

Seriously, the suckitude of SM3 is a practically inexhaustible subject. When under the influence of the symbiote, Spidey should've taken a big bite out of Sandman and sucked his brainssss out of his sandy skull. Not danced about the nightclub as if he was on ****ing "So You Think You Can Dance." Even a humble fanfiction writer can get that!

And Harry's costume design? Makes him look even worse than his dad. An even I had heretofore thought was impossible.
