The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

One of the things I like is that the film never forgets about the people involved. It jacked up the action big time, but it wasn't just a mindless action film. Once again,Raimi reminded us that there is a man behind the mask(although, the constant unmasking by both Spidey and Venom was a bit much). The movie did have more story than needed, but better too much than not enough at all.
Yes,some of the situations may be a bit cheesy, but it's still a character driven film with heart. That's more than you can say about most summer blockbusters. The very last scene when Peter and MJ say no words, and just embrace has alot of weight.

Very well said. "you took the words right out of my pocket."lol. I agree the film did seem like it had alot of heart. Which is probably why i like it so much.

I love that scene. everything about that one short scene was amazing, the expressions on their faces, the fact that they ust embrace eachother and slowly dance without saying a word, and the music, It was just amazing. I'm gonna sound crazy right now but honestly i almost want to cry when I see that scene. It's such an emotional scene .

I just came to say I do love this movie. It's got some flaws here and there but by no means is it anywhere close to bad. Anyone who says this is the worst comic book film ever just loses my respect. Worst ever? Come on...

I think this movie is highly under rated, the things people hated about it were stupid.

This is also a forum where people express their opinions. I do believe that is what I just did.

But since there is an abundance of threads where you can go & bash the movie, why not leave this one alone?

Stupid? It's stupid that people hate the lame dancing scenes and the emo look Peter? The ridiculously contrived plot that Sandman was made Uncle Ben's real killer. The stupid what the butler saw deux ex machina plot device with Harry. The overstuffing of too many characters and plots into one movie. How the final battle was cheesified by the corny ass reporters and crowd reactions. MJ being so annoying and jealous of Spidey's fame etc

I don't mean to bring down this thread, but comments like that are just absurd. I've seen some stupid reasons for people to dislike it, like the casting of Topher Grace as Brock. But the reasons I listed above are the main ones, and they're perfectly valid.

^ everything you said I agree with. Except the dancing. To hate the movie so much based largely on that is kind of weak.

I personally like the movie. Love is a strong word, but I'm happy with it. I think Spider-man fans take a bit too much for granted personally.

the one thing I do hate though is not neccesarily the constant complaining about the same things, but when anyone gives their two cents on "how they would have done it differently, or how it should have been done differently" especially the whole lame they should have had a cliff hanger with Venom in the church scene. No way could Venom carry a movie all by himself. Yes they had enough for two movies, but it wouldn't neccesarily have made it that great having two movies.

Hate on it all you want, but I'm sick of hearing how people would have changed it. Even though most of people's crappy ideas actually make me like the movie we got even more. I think the third was destined to be dissapointing, yes it should have been better. But these people were worn out and the hype and weight of their own franchise was a pretty heavy burden. They were over ambitious but I give them credit for trying.

I agree. Which is why I listed several reasons why people dislike it. Nobody I've ever seen hates it based only on just the dancing.

It's not any more absurd, than what some of the haters say. I'll agree with the bold, but I liked how they had that many plots going on at once, and MJ's feeling of neglect. I will also say that this movie will be a lot better if they release a special edition with all of the deleted scenes. There was at least one more scene for both Eddie and Flint, which would really help their plots. I couldn't care less about the length of the movie, as long as it's good.

maybe hate is a strong word. But I know a lot of people who can't get past this. They don't know much about Spider-man and so don't care about Venom or anything.

With a lot of casual public (mostly younger people at least) the dancing, the supposed "emo" peter parker and the flag shot (of all things) are what people complain about mostly. In other words it was just too cheesy in their opinion.

People who don't know much about Spider-man are more likely to know who Venom is than Sandman.

I just wanted to tell you guys how I really feel about the reception people have given this film and once again, my thoughts on the film.

When Spider-Man 3s' first picture came out, my heart jumped out of my chest for a few seconds because of how amazed and hyped I was. Then all the sset pictures nad the first ever photo of black suit Spidey. The trailer left me in shock for hours, I watched it hundreds of times. Same for when all the other trailers for the film came out. I remember people (including my self) saying this film would blow Spidey2 out of the water.

Then, when I whent to the midnight premiere at 9:15 pm and saw the film at 12:00 am I thought it was amazing and it was my favorite of the series. I come on here at 2:30 in the morning and I see someone saying "this film was horrible, thanks Sam, you ruined a great trilogy". I was shocked to hear that. Then, more and more people said it, but me and alot of other people said it was great.

What bothered and still bothers me about people dissapointed with the third one and some people saying it sucked was because they say bad things aobut the film when the director and actors and crew members work day and night on these films and try their hardest. You know how hard it must be to make sure the actors are doing and saying things the way the director wants them to? I may just be one of the few people who loved Spidey3 and thought it was the best of the series on these boards, but I am VERY proud to say that I am.

IMO, SM3 doesn't come close to beating SM2's quality but I still find SM3 enjoyable movie. Too many people were expecting it to be the next Godfather and were dissapointed.

Wasn't a dissapointment but it wasn't the best out of the three for me.

Yeah i hate personal attacks agaisnt the cast and crew. By all minds dislike the movie and state way and even discuss how bad a job they did if that is what you believe. But don't question they're commitment to the project when they've put years of work into it. This has been Raminis life for eight years.

I defenitley respect your opinion and Spidey2 was an amazing film! What I sort of get annoyed by is when people say Sam is an idiot and he shouldn't direct another Spidey film. You, on the other hand, never said that. Neither has Joker, Arcturus, Green Goblin 1964, and so many others. We all have different opinions. :yay:

I'm just tired of defending this movie. I'm tired of people bashing the redesign of the black suit, Peter's behavior while wearing it, & Harry's costume.

I'm tired of the people who treat it like it's Batman & Robin or something...Dislike the movie if you want but to say it is on that level is just dumb IMO.

I think Spider-Man 3 was a good movie on the whole, but it just needed a whole lot more character development. Especially Eddie. Venom in the movie was PERFECT in my opinion, but he just needed to be in the movie longer. The dancing scenes were a little campy, but I found them fun.

I don't know if I've said it in this thread or not, but if I have, I'll say it again. I love Spider-Man 3 and it's my favorite movie of the Spider-Man trilogy.
