The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

problem is that he cries too much for a superhero, ok im cool with him crying when someone dies in a movie, for a chick and other drama its like wtf. Im being honest, it doesn't bother me when pete cries, but they really need to stop with that now. he cried twice in SM1 and twice in SM3.

The whole point is to show that Superheroes are people to. It's trying to humanize him. Peter Parker is suppose to be the most down to earth and most human of all the heroes. It makes sense for him to cry. I love how you trivialize losing the woman you love he was going to ask her to marry him and she leaves him.

i get it, and im cool with him getting emotional, but like i said they could have also handled it other ways that could have worked out too

Okay, but that's your opinion. And I respect that, unless you say the way they did it was wrong.

Agreed, Peter crying over a woman and other things is a GREAT thing to have Peter Parker do sometimes. I've had no problem with it at all.

Peter cried all the time, in the comics. He cried in the first movie and no one complained. I think it's kinda lame people complain about it now.

I'm not even a fan of the 3rd film and I agree. I think it's one of the few good things this movie does.

The scene the Captain Stacy's office when Peter is reliving the night his uncle died was very haunting, but I think the moment later in the film when MJ is breaking up with Peter was very heartbreaking. Maybe it was, from what I've heard,Tobey's kinda goofy expression(um,ok?)during that moment, but I actually heard a few people laughing.
I,like most people, have been dumped and at that moment I did feel the pain that Peter felt.:csad: So I could identify with that scene.

I do like the scene with the flashback. Although I'm not all for Sandman being the killer, the portrayal was very effective.

Agreed.
And I still think his origin works, because if Peter had stopped Carradine in the beginning, Flint wouldn't have shot Uncle Ben.

Exactly! So, overall, it doesn't change a whole lot. Peter still refused to stop Carradine, so because of that, Carradine caused Marko to shoot Uncle Ben.

Also take note that when he finds out Flint was the killer, Peter no longer feels guilty, he just wants to find him. Then when flint explains what happened in the end, there is a look of "it's still my fault" in Peter's face.

I also like the idea that Peter apologizes to Harry for what he said before he dies, so that he doesn't feel the same guilt for yelling at Uncle Ben and not apologizing before he died. I think they mention that in the commentary.

Yeah, and speaking of that scene, I almost got teary eyed when I saw it.

Yeah, first time I saw it I could've been bawling my eyes out, but I was holding it back, so I only got a few tears. I don't know, it was just in the moment I guess.

What!? People are not allowed to cry or even almost cry it's in human. How can you get sad about anything? When something tragic or really hurtfull happens the natural human reaction is to laugh not cry. What kind of strange world have I entered.

That was important, so as not to nullify the whole lesson of the first film, as each film has a lesson to teach.
