The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

I saw the movie for the first time since October (when I first got it on DVD) not too long ago.

When I'm not watching the movie, I can point out the flaws really easily. When I'm watching the movie, I'm enjoying it a LOT and those flaws don't stand out as much.

Anyway, since I saw it recently, I have to say that while it doesn't match the quality of the first two Spider-Man movies, I still love Spider-Man 3. I don't think it's a bad movie AT ALL. Could it have been better? Yup. Does that make it the worst movie of all time? Nope.

Spider-man 3 wasn't perfect, but people who say, "it's the worst movie ever," are idiots.
I agree.
it's not cool to call people idiots, but, truth be told, that's what they're being.
these are the kind of people who have lots of "worst movie ever".
people, watch Decoy. you'll have an idea of what is the worst movie ever.

Yeah, I know it's not cool, and it's not really a good thing to say; but I get pretty upset when it comes to Spider-man 3 bashing.
They're not idiots, but they do have idiotic ideas sometimes.

Just because you so passionately disagree with them does not make them idiots. You only make your self and all the other fans look bad when you resort to that kind of name calling.

I'm not a fan of the movie, but I do agree it is certainly not the worst movie ever or even close. I just didn't think it was very good.

passionately?
please...read my post again.
you make it seem that I love SM3 and I love to disagree about what I don't concur.
they're not idiots (or so I believe), like Silver-Spider said in his previous post, but they like to act as such.
I apologize for the term, but only because I'm becoming as ignorant as they're being with this attitude, and I won't go down to that level again.

Hear hear! I think the whole movie isn't half-bad. They should've kept Venom out until the fourth movie, where he would do some real damage, but that's pretty much it. When you think about it, the way they approached this film (and the fact that the symbiote was forced in) was very well done, considering they thought it'd be the last one.

I'm very curious about something.

Why the hell do people refer to Peter's dark side as emo? So what if he wears eye liner and things like that. It was to show the darkness inside being brought out onto his physical features. If it was the 1970's the word "emo" would never have been said by any fan, but because of this messed up era we live in, we hear it about anybody who has hair covering their eyes or wears eye liner.

Now, when I whent to see TDK at the midnight premiere (excellent film and the greatest DC film ever made, but I still perfer Spidey) I was first in line with my friend and we met two kids. One whent to the same Comic shop that I go to and we start talking about Spidey 3. He says something like this. "The first two movies were good, but the 3rd sucked. Emo Spider-Man was stupid and Sam Raimi did it on purpose." That pissed me off a little bit because he clearly was ignorant aobut the things that really happened.

Anyway, my point is that fans never stop mentioning the word "emo" about dark Spider-Man and it's getting annoying, but I can't stop it sadly.

Do not, I repeat, do not read Youtube user's post about dark Spider-Man. They are so ignorant that it almost made my head explode

agreed . if ppl want to call spidey emo fans might as well call batman emo(he wears black all the time and seems depressed most of the time) or peter pertrell from Heroes Emo.
if having hair in your face or wearing eye liner makes u emo then that means every time someones hair gets in their face they r emo then right?
Cousin It from the Adams Family must be emo too then right?

Great post.

Some of the excuses and complaints ppl make about SM3 I just hate soo freakin' much with a firey passsion
for example:

"I hated SM3 it was a love story. the first 2 movies were better.."
my response: WTF?!? How can u complain about SM3 being a "Love story" and say u like the first 2 better when clearely he said at the begening of the first freakin' movie "this story like any story worth telling is all about a girl" It's like u were told what u were walking into before the first 5 minutes of the first movie even started!! were u even paying attention?!? Ans SM2 seems more of a love story then either of them!!(if u think about SM2 really is more of a love story then the first or thrid one)

another complaint:

"man this movie sucked.. they made u think is one going to be all about venom in the movie and then they only give him a little bit of screen time and kill him in the end..freakin' gay.."

Actually they didn't make us think the whole movie was about venom. there was only 1..just 1 Tv spot that was all about Venom..where as every other TV spot was mostly about Black suit Spidey..Sandman..New Goblin..and the problems he has with MJ.. It's your own fault for thinking it was all about venom.. not the TV spot...

or how about

"man this is gay...Venom is too skinny.. he has webs all over his costume...
and he is played by freakin' Eric Foreman!!"

one of the dumbest comments ever...it amazes me how so called "Fans" complain about venom not looking like this:

VENOM012_FLcov.jpg

or this:

url

when every TRUE venom fan should know he originally looked like this:

venom1.jpg

and Venom looks just fine in these other pics:

So I honestly don't understand what peoples' problem is with this:

venom.jpg

and complaing that topher Grace is playing venom just because he was Eric foreman is just plain stupid. Topher Grace did a good job as
Venom. his facila expressions, his lines..everthing was great.. ppl were just blind to that because they feel like Venom should look like the Hulk..

And ppl complaining about the black suit itself..that realy realy pisses me off..
the comic suit is cool but it just doesn't look cool enough in a movie..(i will go into further detail and on a longer rant later)

I'm done for now...but I have tons and tons more to say...
consider this Part 1

Thats a terrible excuse, they could have just had his hair dirty and greesy looking and have bags under his eyes. Simple

If it was the 1970's the word "emo" would never have been said by any fan, but because of this messed up era we live in, we hear it about anybody who has hair covering their eyes or wears eye liner.
The heck is this supposed to mean?

Anyway, my point is that fans never stop mentioning the word "emo" about dark Spider-Man and it's getting annoying, but I can't stop it sadly.
Because he did "look" EMO. Peter had the stereotypical EMO look and theres nothing that can dispute that.

peter pertrell from Heroes Emo.
if having hair in your face or wearing eye liner makes u emo then that means every time someones hair gets in their face they r emo then right?
Pretty much, he did have the stereotypical EMO look.

ok to me it's like
so freakin' waht if he lloked emo
whupdie freakin' doo
it's not like he was crying like a little baby all the time
it's not like they showen him on myspace with a picture like this:

emo-n.jpg

or went on yoututbe and made a lame love music video for MJ with these ugly pictures:

emo-love.jpg

it's not like he too harry's arm blades in the middle of the fight and started cutting his own wrists.

I mean ppl just completely over react4ed about the whole hair in the face, and tiny bit of eyeliner. and it surprises me howeveryone is like "oh he was so emo" when gothics look the same to.

Of course not, I never said he acted EMO. I'm just saying he looked it.

And gothics do not look the same. Gothics actually go a step beyond to look drastically different. But at least there cool tho, unlike EMOs.

I mean its seriously not hard to make him look dirty and not "pretty".

As for so freaking what if he looked emo? Well to me, it took me out of the movie. Instead of of looking like some cringy guy with dirty hair and bags under his eyes, it looks like he took time out of his day to look like some *****e on MTV.

lol i wasn't sying that u sadi he acted emo lol
and i don think him looking emo should be such a huge issue..
I mean just because he looks a certain way doesn't mean it ruins the whole movie right?
and my thing is i honestly feel like ppl are taking the "Sm3 sucks" thing way too far before i only heard a few complaints but nowadays i'm hearing more and more things that r ridiculous. like things ppl never complained about untill SM3 came out. it's like ppl r letting there dislike for SM3 affect their judgment for the entire film series.

It's like comic fans are never happy unless they have something to complain about.

Oh of course, that alone doesn't ruin the movie for me, rather just a combination of several things. I'm not loosing sleep over it, just think it was something stupid to put in the movie.

You know what's funny to me?
(BY AND LARGE-I'M REFERING TO THE MAJORITY HERE. DO NOT GET OFFENDED IF THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU)
I'm reading post after post talking about flaws. It seems to me that when it comes to Marvel movies, fans are extremely nitpicky. The Spider-Man movies are judged so harshly, you know? Mostly about minor cosmetic deviations from the comics. "Oh-there's organic webbing! The Goblin isn't dressed like a purple elf! They used MJ on the bridge & she lived! Ock started out as somebody Peter respected! We didn't get to see enough of Venom!"
But make even the slightest critique of the Batman & Superman films & these same people are ready to tar & feather you. It's so damn hypocritical.
