The -I Really don't see the appeal of..... Thread

True, I've certainly seen many people without a hope in hell of seducing anyone whilst dancing, but hell, they're having fun I suppose.

I don't see the appeal of Glee. ****ty covers of songs and ****ty acting. ****ty covers of songs and ****ty acting everywhere.

What isn't there to like about mma, it's the purest sport there is!

-Travelling

Traveling to a new country is always an exciting experience (except if you're being deployed in a war). I don't know how anyone can hate this. Probably one of my favorite things.

No idea what that stands for.

-Seeing a movie with someone (in order to not feel alone).

Also a thing I enjoy. How can you slag off a bad movie when you're alone?

-Getting to know strangers (when it's not necessary).

I kinda agree with this. Especially when you're on a plane and all you want to do is read your book or sleep and some dude is in the seat next to you giving his life story. I'm not totally opposed to meeting new people though, especially if I might run into them again.

-Guys' night out

I'm getting the feeling you're a bit anti-social.

Nothing better than shooting the **** with your best friends after a tough day at work imo.

-Going on vacation (to a different country that you don't live in).

Isn't this the same as traveling?

-Smoking weed

I want weed to be legalized, but I've never seen the appeal either (and in college I tried to see the appeal... a lot). It just makes me paranoid and depressed.

-American Idol

Obviously agree.

-Getting drunk

Getting drunk is fun, but hangovers suck. :barf:

Glee also propagates the idea that being morbidly obese is somehow acceptable, I want to puke anytime I see Ashley Fink.

Night clubs too, with the offensively loud music, over priced drinks and the feeling like your in a cattle market. Every time i went it was such a chore.

It was fun sometimes, sure. Alcohol and hot women stuffed into tiny dresses? Nice. But it wasnt something I lived for. I couldnt imagine my life revolving around it like some people's seem to do.

Just look at the list... S.A.A.D., you come of VERY lazy from that list. VERY lazy and lonely.:csad:

No... It propagates the idea that you should accept who you are and own it. But Ashley Fink is by no means an attractive girl...
And I can understand not getting the appeal of Glee, but some of the covers are pretty good, and putting a generalization that they all suck isn't right.

aaaaaaaaaaaand you've all fallen into S.A.A.D.'s trap

Easily the most successful bait-poster since Outsiderz Edge

What trap? Please, don't act as if you know me that much.:whatever:

If you wanted to make a new enemy tonight, then guess what? Mission accomplished.

I suppose the idea is that people like here are genetically predisposed to being hogs and we should embrace them for who they are and not make them feel like they should change because baby they were born that way.

I just don't feel it should be put on the same level as being gay, or being born of a certain ethnicity, those things are irreversible and should be embraced, but being a heart attack waiting to happen is crap. Shouldn't be encouraged. I don't see many morbidly obese Somalians.

The only thing I actually agree with S.A.A.D on it MMA. I can get why some people like it, but to me, it's just two dudes in boxers 69'ing each other.

I feel like such a troll for saying that.

I ain't no huge piece of flesh that weighs a kazillion pounds. Not even close. :cmad:

I'm just kidding, I was trying to picture someone that would agree with the things you said didn't appeal to you :oldrazz:

It all depends on the mma match, when the ground game is dynamic it's awesome and doesn't look homoerotic at all, but sometimes when they get winded and clamp on at awkward positions I can see how it looks dubious.

Right because we should crucify someone once they get overweight. They no longer are a person. So clearly just because Ashley Fink is overweight she no longer has feelings and no longer should be accepted. :whatever:

That's the very reason Glee exists and why Glee is popular. Not the songs. Not the acting (which I'll agree some of their covers leave alot to be desired, but their acting has never been a problem.) To send the message it's okay to be an outsider. You're on a message board for probably the nerdiest thing there is, superheroes. You've probably at somepoint felt like an outsider. Still don't see the appeal?

Can that wooden crate hold you up? It sure doesn't look like that sturdy of a soap box.

I think you're being a bit overly sensitive. And projecting a bit.

Oh toss off Corey. I was simply stating the reason it's popular. Also just because someone is overweight doesn't mean we cut them off from society and make them feel unaccepted. You aren't a stick figure yourself, Corey. How would you feel if I said that you don't belong because of that?
