The Importance of Ben Parker in Spider-Man 3

I think Ben Parker actually having input into this film is dependant on point of view. Having an actual 'part' in this film is debatable, forgetting about the Sandman flashback -- but isn't his role just as important unseen? He is the one who has distilled 'truth', 'good', and 'RESPONSIBILITY' into our hero from the beginning, making Pete's decision about ridding himself of the symbiote follow the path of Ben's advice and guidance just as much as if he was there telling Pete to his face.

Harry may however hear normans voice every so often, as a guide/influence

I'd actually like that. Whilst Harry's out on the field, he's hearing Norman's voice, goading him to "do it, finish him"! :ninja:

that's what I'm thinking. This shouldn't be an easy option for Harry, he may have alot of anger for parker but he still must have strong feelings as a friend, so I reckon he will/should be questioning what he's doing constantly, even during fights and every so often I want Norman to shout when he even begins to contemplate

Yeah, the parallels in this film are really good IMO: you have both Pete and Harry on the path of revenge (Brock too in a twisted way), and you also have both Pete and Harry being driven by their uncle/father -- whereas Pete will need to remember and embrace Uncle Ben's words, Harry, however, will need to disregard Norman's.

The topic's pretty straightforward. How important do you think Uncle Ben is going to be in the next instalment of Spider-Man?

Taking into consideration that Ben Parker is an integral part of Peter's quest to take out Sandman, and from what we have read from insiders reports, the script summary, and the Q & A, I'd say, Uncle Ben is going to be a reminder to Spider-Man, that ---

"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility."

Thoughts?
I think he'll ultimately SAVE his nephew from totally giving in to the darkness that the symbiote provides!

I said this about 6 months ago, but I feel NOW a need to say it again.

I would find it absolutely COOL if at some point in the film, where spidey is at his peek of "darkness-level", and he struggles wether or not to actually finish off Sandman or not!?... then in one VERY dark moment with NO SELF CONTROL what so ever, what the Green Goblin said to him in spider-man 1 SUDDENTLY makes sense to him, and we hear a voice-over from Willem Dafoe saying "In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they WILL hate you!....why bother???"

and then as he has the chance to kill Sandman (for what ever reason it'll end up beeing) he'll hear his uncles words in his head ones again, "With great power, comes great responsibillity. Remember that Pete...REMEMBER that!".

Just a thought of mine.
