Assuming everyone's visited those huge spoiler sites that are news in the frontpage, we'll be getting
the ultimate Hulk origin. No gammabomb, just Bruce Banner shooting some gammadope in his veins:oldrazz:

It seems to be a mixture of all the Hulk's apearances. The Ultimate Universe, the 616 univerese, and the television series.

I feel fine with it. I'm happy a better movie is being made and that we will get a action packed Hulk movie the way it was supposed to be.:woot:

Yeah, I don't have a problem with this origin either... well maybe little. But I can live with it. Now, the ultimate Hulk kills people, so if he kills in the movie, are you okay with that?

I think it has to be that way. It was so stupid in Ang Lee's movie that they had to show that no one was killed, like the soldiers in the tank Hulk threw or the guy in the helicopter. But in this movie, when Hulk goes rampage in the city, there's gotta be some casualties. Of course it can be a tricky thing, but I didn't hate Frankenstein when he threw that girl in the lake. I'm talking about the 1933 Frankenstein with Boris Karloff. So I might be okay with Hulk killing... Anyways, to keep this thread alive; discuss.

If this is Ultimite Hulk I'll skip it. They had to screw with the origin yet again.

the origin makes sense if they're going to tie all these movies together (Cap,Avengers/Ultimates)

^But why do they need to tie them together? They did in the comics without changing origins.

Ok, I really don't want to defend this Ultimate version super soldier idea route...but it should be said that originally Lee & Kirby had no idea that their characters would eventually spawn a big connected universe: each title was self-contained in it's own little world (In an early FF issue they even showed the Hulk as being no more than a comic book character)
They quickly changed all that though and soon Spider-Man appeared with the FF, The Hulk also turned up in FF and a little while after that the Avengers all got together too, and the 616 universe was born.

Now the Ultimate line has come along and they have been following the Super Soldier/Government think-tank ideas to connect that world from the outset: Ultimate Spider-Man even has his origin based in part on that. Clearly it seems they like the idea that Captain America would connect so much of what was to follow and if the goal is to eventually have a connected film franchise featuring all the original Avengers (which I think is possible if Marvel hold the film rights to them all) this would be a pretty neat way to connect all those dots in the end.

But...as you said, it wasn't done like this originally and now matter how neat an idea it may be it is still isn't needed now: Not everything has to be connected for them to still go on to work together down the line.

And getting to why I don't want to defend the Ultimate origins...Personally I think the 616 Hulk has the most powerful and visually stunning origins ever, and an injection or a lab overdose/accident can never trump the man being blasted by the rads from a Nuclear bomb.

Yes, why they need a nod to the Super Soldier Serum to tie them together? They can do all that they wants, also without recombinings the origin... Is Tony Stark in search of any "Super Soldier Serum" too?

I guess it can be argued Stark is designing a super soldier too, but is using mechanics rather than biology.

But it doesn't make sense... why should thay need everyone to work on some sort of "super soldier", to tie them together?

They don't need to at all. It's just a theme that has recurred in the Ultimate lines development and unfortunately some elements from those books do keep creeping into these films.

It seems Ed Norton has been doing his homework...
