Daredevil The Inevitable Costume Thread

Nice work above but I'm of the school of thought that less is more when it comes to Daredevil. I don't want it being over designed. The statue above is the closest I've seen to what I'd prefer.

This may be controversial, but I wouldn't be opposed to dropping the D's either.

I don't know what it is but i really love the minimal suit designs i have seen of DD. Its such a pleasing cotume to look at. I would love to see the statue posted a few pages back in real life.

I disagree respectfully. Need them and also have them be raised not flat. Let them be functional too. Have hidden lock picks slipped in. Maybe conceal a scalpel. Could be a plot device for a future escape when tied up.

Also the horns, have one be a GPS tracker, he could apply to a vehicle that he wants to trail perhaps ??

Thought I would add this. How about the billy club???
It needs to be BadAss!!!

Really like the Under Armor recommendation

Also think minimalist, maybe it could tie into his whole Radar sense. Eyes in back of the head.

Could DD actually read a screen to use a GPS tracker? I suppose it could probably emit some sort of signal he could follow with his radar sense.

Also, as far as material, I wouldn't mind something along the lines of the Black Widow or Cap from Avengers. It's definitely not leather, not exactly spandex, but a heavier duty material that looks like it could take some punishment.

I just hope they get the cowl/mask part right. It's got to look better than Affleck's and Cap's from Avengers, though something close to the new Flash tv show would be good.

Never even thought about screen. Spidey tied his in to spider sense. There's a way around it though.

This is how how movies have goofs.

I'd like for the yellow suit to make an appearance in a flashback showing how he became Daredevil. Have it be a yellow and red outfit he wore to train in while in Japan with Stick or something. The mask could be a yellow and red oni mask too. He wears it his first night patrolling Hell's Kitchen and decides to go for a more traditionally deep red devil outfit to strike fear in his foes.

If they were to use the yellow costume, I would like to see it as a sort of easter egg, maybe as Jack Murdock's training outfit, have it be a sort of yellow and maroon underarmour outfit.

Why does Spider-man get a pass for spandex?

Well he doesn't, the movie suits are not spandex. They are neoprene. Basically the movie suits are more like rubber suits. On top of that Tobey wore a muscle suit. Garfield I don't think does but I mean he's not bulky looking anyway.

Spandex just doesn't look good for superheroes. It looks cheap. Also material like neoprene can have some very nice texture which sells the suits.

Daredevil costume difference in the posters?

Well Leather isn't exactly know well for it's elasticity. So for the actor to be able to even more they needed him to have a looser suit.

Now what Marvel has done with their suits is do a lot more material mixing. Captain America has loose and tight parts.

And honestly the daredevil suit in action was great to me. Taking it frame by frame. Sure it may not look pretty in that moment but that's not how it's going to be seen. You're not going to see suits staying perfectly still enough for you to analyze the moment.

Now that being said.........the D's STAY! Removing them is like taking away the S from Superman. There is no reason to do it. If these guys wanted to be 100% functional then they wouldn't wear anything but dark military/swat gear.

No yellow on the suit! Hey they wanna do version 1 fine. But DD is all red.

I'm thinking if they don't bother showing the yellow costume, then I hope he might have his black get-up from Miller's Man without fear, at least in possible flashbacks.
It's very simple though, basically just a pair of black sweatpants and shirt with a bandana around his head covering his eyes, but I kinda like it.

He could get his black costume from "Trial of the Incredible Hulk". ;)

I think that it's mostly a mistake on people's part, calling it "spandex" when they mean "neoprene". A material similar to Nebula's in GOTG, only in red, is my preference. I like the visible stitching on it, it makes it seem more durable. And for the mask, something close to the new Flash one, but with red lenses in the eyes would work, I think.

IMO, Spider-man gets away with a "spandex" costume for the same reason Superman does: because it just works, aesthetically, and it is iconic. This doesn't really mean that any and all other superhero costumes can readily work as "spandex", though.

You are correct, but Daredevil is in the same group as Spider-man.

The Punisher is not in that group because Frank Castle would wear a damn bulletproof vest.
Wolverine would mix it up. But the X-men are supposed to have a material that's more durable.

And what I'm really talking about is reality. Neoprene or similar doesn't even need to look like neoprene. Thor's costume has metal parts but they certainly aren't metal in reality.

Would be very pleased with something like this. Also I prefer red to a muted maroon. Embrace the character.

I would have the gloves / Boots / straps / emblem and cowl be a more leather-y material very bright red. The suit itself would be something more akin Man of Steel's fabric mesh. Have the bodysuit be ever so slightly darker red.

my 2 cents.

Yes, please!! Daredevil has one of my favorite comic hero designs...it's a simple design, but it's just so beautiful and elegant. Something like this would be perfect.

Marvel Studios never disappoints in costume terms. I think their worst effort has been Deathlook's look in AOS, but that is the worst case scenario and I don't think we should be worried this time.

can't wait to see his look
and I certainly hope it blows the Flash costume outta the water, if on budget alone

(I know all the DC fanboys have been creaming themselves over that thing, but his dome looks gigantic and ridiculous, and the whole thing just looks very stiff)

I always liked how they integrated a boxing/athletic gear into this costume.

I kinda like the jacketed look.It could work if done right.

Why can't the hackers do something useful and leak a picture of Daredevil's costume instead
