Inhumans The Iwan Rheon is Maximus Thread

That might be too hammy for me. I was never that impressed with his performance on Sherlock.

How about someone from a different version of Sherlock? How about Jonny Lee Miller as Maximus?

Is Iwan Rheon good enough for this role?

Would a big name like Leo Di Caprio work as Maximus?

I don't see DiCaprio being interested in the role honestly or suddenly joining a Marvel Studios movie anytime soon. And while he's a great actor, I don't think Maximus would be the right for him if he ever played in a comic book movie. Maximus should be the reject, a madman and a freak. Even when DiCaprio plays crazy people like Calvin Candie and Jordan Belfort, there's always a certain amount of smoothness to them which I don't think Maximus should have.

Michael Pitt is a freaking great actor, capable of both subtle nuance in the likes of Boardwalk Empire and total bonkers villainy as seen with his Mason Verger in Hannibal. He's not my first choice for the role, but he'd be great in the part if he got it.

Agreed. Michael Pitt is a very good actor.

Pitt was good in Murder by Numbers and Funny Games as well.

I don't really see Gyllenhaal for the role either even though, he like Leonardo is a great actor, I don't think it'd necessarily be the right role for him.

I wonder if Marvel will look back at some of the auditions from their other films. They tested like every white male actor in Hollywood for Star-Lord. Out of those candidates, I wouldn't mind Jim Sturgess or Jack Huston as Maximus.

I can't stand his Moriarty.

Yeah, he grew on me a bit as the show went on, but in my opinion, he's the weakest thing about Sherlock. Cumberbatch and Freeman are the BEST Sherlock and Watson I've ever seen, Lara Pulver is the best Irene Adler, Mikkelsen was brilliant as Magnussen... but Scott just comes off like a poor man's Joker.

Ooohhh yes. Jake would be great for this. He needs to star in a superhero film. I hope that previously losing out on big roles and the whole Prince of Persia experience haven't turned him off from genre stuff.

But... Hugh Dancy need to be Reed Richards when Fantastic Four comes home

I have a new candidate for the casting of Maximus, Dan Stevens from The Guest.

Isn't that who everyone wants for Iron Fist?

I wonder if marvel will go straight to making Maximus the bad guy in this? They tend to like using a lower level villian at first so we get used to the heroes personalities first and then save the big guys for the sequel.

Whoever they get to play Maximus I really hope he gets a scene with Tom hiddlestons loki because that would be epic

Who would be a lower Inhumans villain? What major villains do the Inhumans have beside Maximus?

Not really a great selection, but they could always go more space. Maybe some Skrulls. It seems some recent villains are decent but are born out of Inhumanity and might fit better on Agents of SHIELD than in Attilan.

It would be awesome if Ronan could show up as a bad guy in an Inhumans movie. I really hope they bring that character back.

How about David Tennant, he can certainly do mad....and has shown a good range of acting abilities in some of he's TV stuff.

Yeah, that was my suggestion. He looks like the guy in the first picture.

Some great choice's here. I was going to throw a curve ball and suggest Andrew Garfield. Because of the rumors about him getting fired by Sony, I started brainstorming potential characters he could play in the MCU. Obvious long shot, but he definitely has some Maximus quirks in him.

Ding ding ding WINNER! :woo:
Great choice. Been a fan since Skins, and he's even better in GoT.
