The Jared Leto is The Joker(?) Thread

All we can really do is speak for our own personal experiences.

Those I've spoken to didn't care for him.
Same for me. The atmosphere is one of indifference.

Outside of hardcore comic book fans the reception to him has been good. There aren't millions of people clamoring for him to be replaced or never seen again.

They don't care enough to have him be replaced.

Is anyone here an old school WWF fan? I can totally see Leto's Joker standing side by side with The Godfather. Pimpin' ain't easy!

I honestly don't think the audience would bat an eye if they recast him. That's just my perception, though.

I don't think so either. His appearances were brief, and not particularly memorable. I doubt many would be up in arms about it. It is not going to happen though.

It's going to be so fun hearing about the behind the scenes stuff if Leto is in the Batman solo.

"What do you mean no tattoos!?!? Do I at least get to wear the teeth caps? That's it, I'm calling my agent!"

Leto has horrible fashion sense. I hope the costume department doesn't take further cues from him.

True that. Most of those that I know were either okay with the performance or thought he was good in the role, but didn't care for the minimized screen-time.

Leto is the first actor who has given us a bad Joker. I don't blame him entirely though. A lot of it was the bad script and direction. But his weak acting is on him.

I blame him.

Especially when you hear about his heavy 'method acting' behind the scenes for this. He was pretentious and overconfident in his performance, and the end result was garbage.

I don't know if I heard anything about the Joker from people I know other than those who were confused as to why he was hardly even in the movie.

They are still mixed.

"Mixed" might not be the best way to describe it, as most of those tweets are negative. Judging by that I think it's safe to say that most people didn't care for the character.

"I realized I wasn't talking to Jared. I was talking to Mr. J!"

This is the Joker were talking about here, any actor taking on the role would have too implement some type of method acting.I know Jared joker did not sit easy with most people but at the end of the day he was a side piece who's apparent scenes were edited and cut all over the show. I see a solid joker in there somewhere. Seems like people want this joker deleted without being explored. Im interested to know who you lot want if he is replaced.

Always looking for a reason to post this

Ledger put together a journal in preparation for the role, and if memory serves correctly he maintained his Joker voice between takes, but otherwise I don't think he ever went really "method" with it. Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart both talked about how Heath was very friendly and approachable between takes.

Far cry from sending people dead pigs, (allegedly) used condoms and anal beads.

I don't think being method and not being an ******* are mutually exclusive.

not all *******s give used condoms and anal beads to their co-workers as gifts, but all people who give out used condoms anal beads as gifts to their co-workers are *******s

I don't actually believe Leto sent anyone used condoms. Until the alleged person who received them comes forth, I don't buy it.

They want Walton Goggins but he's probably too busy wearing dresses. :o

Walton Goggins makes everything better. Don't fight it.

Goggins would've been fantastic. Would've also liked if they could have some how nabbed Fassbender away from Fox, that dude has quite a smile

Not Jack.

Didnt he mention how playing the joker can push a actor to the edge (said to heath apparently). Even some one of his status most of pushed the boundaries off camera. Obviously not in a method acting way but in a way which found himself hard to switch off after being on set.

The role of Joker and a actors mental and physical limits interests me greatly. I remember all the talk of Crispin Clover.Paul Bettany before the cast of Heath. One thing that instantly came too mind was if they had the mental capacity to play joker. Method acting was a ****** approach by someone like jared and i dont excuse some of the **** he pulled, i guess he was looking for a platform to escalate his traits of his joker.

I just feel who ever does play joker, must have deep understanding of what it takes to play the role. I watched a ****** watchmojo vid about the 10 worse things joker has done. That was abit disturbing to watch and confirmed to me why he's one of/if not the most controversial characters to inhabit.

Nope. Nope. Nope.
