I'm just so happy we are getting to witness Joaquin Phoenix, this actor of such an incredible and latent talent, bringing this to life and working with the Barverse. Damn...

Man... Batman franchise is so gifted... To imagine here it is and we had the opportunity to not only enjoy watching Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and soon Joaquin Phoenix, but also Christian Bale, MIchael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Chistopher Walken, Danny DeVito, Nicole Kidman, Jim Carrey, Anne Hathaway, just to name a few.

This is so cool to realize in perspective. Not many can say had such an starry record. Really, the Batverse as a whole is home to quality and even if not everything work as intended, it's still there, we can still enjoy these top notch people at what they do turning these characters real..

You need some veeeery top tier talent for the next Joker. Chalamet seems to be going that trajectory.

Also: Heath Ledger's Joker is what made Chalamet want to become an actor. Would be like a cool full circle thing if he got the part in Pattman 3.

Should other villains get the chance to shine? Sure. But Joker IS Batman's archnemesis. He needs to be in that trilogy. He's faaar too important.

He could sort of split the difference, and make the Joker a constant presence in the series, but not as the actual *antagonist* of the movies. Which is not to say he's not a villain, far from it, simply that he is not the source of the conflict in the movie. He's a supporting character who creates complications, makes matters worse, and offers devil's bargains to characters good and evil. Do it right, and he could be terrifying without ever leaving Arkham.

Wouldn't that feel like you're just blueballing the audience? You could do that in the first two movies but by the third he definitely needs to attack and be the main antagonist.

This was what people thought Leto's Joker would be, so excuse me if this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Hawley's film sounded great. It was like a dark "Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" or Frost/Nixon but with a journalist and Doom.

Yeah, but a movie about a young Wolverine on his prime, set in the MCU, with the same style of Logan or Joker would be great. Maybe a Wolverine Origin adaptation set in the past. Would show us the dark side of the MCU (Daredevil did it first, ofc, but sadly the show is dead, now). Or maybe Moon Knight, Or a movie of X-Men that focuses in the characters as a drama. Idk, there are so many stories that could be told with a grounded style that i hope the genre touches. Don't get me wrong, i love the action and all that, but the comics are so vast and so diverse with styles and genres.
