Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Looks like 340 DOM + 730 OS finish before expansion so very close to Toy Story 4 and TDKR.
I don't think $.107b is possible. Frozen 2 will come out next week. Toy Story 4 and TDKR will have a bit of distance between Joker due to that movie.

I'm still off put by Arthur Fleck as a revolutionary icon. The guy was a loser with poor mental health, not someone to idolize.
And I'm pretty sure that was not Todd Phillips' intent. He can't help what's going on in third world countries and how people view Joker that way.

Joker has an interesting parallel to Hong Kong, barring the main character's personality and state. The Hong Kong government is **** just like Gotham. Beneath that prosperous facade is a regime under the thumb of the bloody mainland government.

True but Angels and FvF should finish under 100M OS, both will lose screens as well. Even if Joker starts dropping by 50% it should add another 30M.

Joker is this generation’s V. Both characters shouldn’t be idolized but viewers will look at the actions they committed as rebelling against the system and/or a broken society.

Yuck, the film is criticizing people like him. Please don't share that. That does not help the movie with the academy. I promise. We're trying to win some awards here.

I hope you're right. It seems to be slowing down quite a bit domestically, but if it can get to 340 million, MAN that would be fantastic!

I'd say there may be criticisms to go around in the movie. As far as I know Thomas isn't treated like a nefarious villain.
People are oblivious to their reflection when a mirror is held up to their face.
maybe he doesn't care that much because he likes it. But also there may not be a strong mirror there. As far as I know no one in this movie, even Thomas Wayne, is a direct Trump comparison.

Oh, please shut up with the "orange man bad " crap lmao

Trump scratches his ass and y'all will make it some big example of how horribly he's "oppressed " us. Guy can't even watch a ****in' movie without being criticized. It's not even like I'm a huge fan of him, but this **** is just annoying as HELL to me.

Oh, gee, what a shocker that the guy who made 2 unnecessary Hangover sequels wants more money now...:whatever:

I'm conflicted. I want more Joaquin and more of this, but I already know they're not gonna do what I want them to do and what others have also suggested (Azzarello adaptation) , so it's like I don't even know if it'll work, and it sort of taints that first movie.

I know that sounds a bit entitled too, but it's like they have the PERFECT opportunity to go that angle, and they probably predictably won't.

I don't like this idea at all. Really was happy with this being a one-and-done, it felt really refreshing.

More like very. Obviously they may not do what we as fans want them to do, they're going to do what they want to do. Plus, the film did make a billion after Warner Bros. both split the profits and didn't have any faith into this film going into it. I'd say Phillips is warranted a boost in pay, given what he probably had to go through just to get the film made.

I think the first film being by itself was a good way for it stay but I'm pumped for a sequel regardless. Great to know Phoenix is returning and now I wonder what the film will be about

Not a fan of this at all.
