You never disappoint my man. This is a great shot.
Omg do I love this
I tend not to get bogged down anymore on the shoulds and shouldn'ts of adaptations. I just want smart and entertaining interpretations of the characters I love. I mean this film will not change the history of the character, only enhance it should all go well. There's so many variations of the Joker on paper and film so this is just another one.the Joker shouldn't have an origin and he is a force of nature absolutely, BUT this is an origin story in the same way Killing Joke is an origin story. This is one of the many ways Joker could have become what he is and this just adds to that. That's one of the reasons i think this film is gonna work so well
Guys, it's an Elseworlds film. Just let it be that. The DCEU is clearly going into a more traditional direction, so let the films outside of that universe do their own thing. Abiding by the comics defeats the point.

same.Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but the thing with Joker and his mother reminds me a lot of the Penguin/mother dynamic in Gotham.
I agree. I take this as a one off as I did when the Killing Joke first came to my local comic shelf.I tend not to get bogged down anymore on the shoulds and shouldn'ts of adaptations. I could honestly care less about box office and how the general audience receives it because I do believe this is a one and done type deal and that's fine with me.
This will be a one and done. No sequel likely to happen. But I am excited about the implications of Joker if it does well. Meaning we will see more standalone, low budget solo movies that can afford to take risks. I’m dying for a movie about The Question.
Id watch it for sure. Hell DC is doing Black Adam as we speak. What a time to be alive when villains are getting standalone movies.i want Luthor film in the same vein as Joker
Elseworlds.i want Luthor film in the same vein as Joker
Yes. A director-driven character study not necessarily tied to established canon.i want Luthor film in the same vein as Joker
Eyes Wide Shut vibes...
This, this, and this! Completely agreed. All i want is a damn good film, tbh, and I think we are gonna get just that.I tend not to get bogged down anymore on the shoulds and shouldn'ts of adaptations. I think this treatment (on the big screen at least) can work with only so many characters. Joker is one.i want Luthor film in the same vein as Joker
They are not moving away from shared universe but they will be making standalone, DC elseworlds movies. While it's too early to tell what their intentions might be, I really hope DC commits to breaking away from the cinematic universe approach and they decide to carve their own path. If feels like they are and I just want them to commit to it more so.
