You can question the necessity of a Joker movie all you want. You don't say "No" to Joaquin Phoenix playing the Crown Prince of Crime. You just don't.

Wait, so you are now lumping another joker onto Reeves himself? lol What if Reeves wants his OWN Joker, what then?

Oh yeah, I’m sure Matt Reeves would be distraught at the idea of having Joaquin Phoenix to call on should he want include The Joker in his movies going forward.

There’s no way WB - even with their levels of stupidity - would allow two competing cinematic universes on screen at the same time. It’d utterly confuse the audience. Two high profile actors as The Joker at the same time just isn’t happening.

Every high profile announcement about seperate D.C. movie projects like this, puts another potential nail in the DCEU coffin.

Highly dubious we'd have two active Joker's going on simultaneously. If Joaquin knocks this out of the park like people expect, Leto ain't continuing. Audiences are already split on this new Joker. If a better one comes out and they're robbed of more and forced to deal with a lesser iteration, that's asking for more backlash. It can't be sustained.

It may not necessarily go on with Joaquin, as he never struck me as a franchise guy. But The Joker is a prestige role so I wouldn't be surprised he made exception.
