so if it's in the 80s, how old is this joker supposed to be?

Tommy Wiseau Interested In Joker Role
I wouldn't be mad if they scrapped the 1980s crime drama idea and just made it a DC comics styled remake of The Room. Joker kills himself at the end because of his relationship troubles with Harley.

Tommy Wiseau > Joaquin Phoenix

It's just facts.

First Flashpoint, now this **** ?

The DCEU is in early years with bad results. Instead of trying to make it better, now they tried to reboot it with Flashpoint and make a non-canon movie ?

Not going to lie...I wanna see it.

Flashpoint being used to reboot the DCEU hasn’t been confirmed in any way. Why are you talking about it like it’s already happened? :funny:

As for making a non canon movie.
Why not?
The shared universe isn’t exactly working out for them.
Just focus on making good movies based on DC characters:shrug:

WB was most successful with DC when they weren't doing shared universe films. So why not do a few films that aren't cannon to the DCEU.

Double good.

I was pretty meeehhhh on a Joker solo movie, but Joaquin's involvement is just too damn interesting.

That said.... $100 million budget? Okay, WB....

I'll take anything below that seemingly standard $250 million price tag as a win.

The news on Joaquin said he was in talks for the role. Hopefully he turned it down and they choose Tommy.

So a totally new Joker movie, completely unconnected to the failed DCEU, will go into production long before any Joker related film starring Jared Leto.

The DCEU is dead.

A win for fans everywhere, and therefore, the world.

This is such an awful idea, and keeps moving Joker away from what he is meant to be: An evil clown.
I am so sick of seeing him as a crime boss, or a navel gazing philosopher droning on and on about how crazy he is. I swear, if it's as pompous and edgy as the Joker graphic novel, it's going to be an absolute disaster.

I'm not dismissing this one until I watch the trailer. The idea is bad, but who knows.

The report said he accepted the role, so it would be further along than just talks.
