Superman Returns The KID.....merged threads

Ugh, I cant believe you brought up that aweful movie as a comparison!

no..........the child is Batman's!!!!!!

Hey.....what do you think Bats is going to do with Supes gone for 5 years?!! That's his chance to get with Lois.....Remember chicks dig the car......lol.

hey Nivek.....idk if you were directly addressing my post......

but....I wasn't trying to compare the Village with SR.....I was just trying to bring up an example of a double twist........one twist that is sort of obvious....and one that just comes out of nowhere.........

Its cool, I just cant stand the guys post 6th sense films, that was the worst. Between that and Unbreakable, I got mental scars...

hmmmmm......yes.....the Village was kind of a let down......it wasn't really that scary......I really wanted to see creepy monsters in the forest........

on the plus side.......they showed the Batman Begins teaser with it.....so that was cool!!!!

Interesting Singer would say it in an interview like this.....

Well, he's probobly heard the Al Quada chatter about this for a while, maybe he just wanted to put it to rest?

or....maybe.....he's just trying to throw us off....lol

singer is messing with your minds. the people who've read the novel say they were led to beleive otherwise, that the kid is in fact superman's. I bet Singer meant that the kid is Superman's, but Superman will never be his father because he left and Richard basically raised him.

good point......but that would mean Supes is the father of a bastard child.....and a deadbeat dad........

that just seems to change his character too much......

Hey, being a bastard in the 21st century isn't all that bad!

not really, depends on how you look at it. we've actually had this argument a few times already, but basically it went like this: superman didn't know he had a son, and the kid probably beleives richard to be his dad. if the kid is living a good life with richard and lois, does superman have the right to suddenly barge in and take over? besides, the kid is probably safer with richard. what if supe's enemies found out he had a kid? superman is the kind of guy that would probalby take full responsibility for his kid, so it probably hurts him not to reveal himself him. that's more noble that barging in and being a homewrecker. besides, the kid will probably discover everything on his own if his powers develop, and confront superman himself when he's mature enough... or go evil and become the anti superman.

Shades of the Conner storyline on Angel!

I don't know how many times this has to be said....but here we go again;

If he didn't know she had a kid....he's not a deadbeat dad......and if you want to complain about her having a kid and not being married....be prepared to take on millions of unwed mothers.

hey chi-boy......those are very good points!!!

Thanks to Daughters of krypton from the Planet for posting this...

http://www.sfx.co.uk/features/directing_the_return_of_superman

SFX: You do have a situation where Lois has a five year old kid and Superman’s been gone for five years – any connection?
SINGER: No, it’s a kid she’s had with Richard White. There is very little with the exception of Kryptonite that Superman can’t defeat. This dilemma is undefeatable. You can’t turn back the clock for five years and erase a child. You may be able to woo her away from her fiancé, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

SFX: So this kid is a permanent reminder that he left.
SINGER: Exactly. And it was the greatest obstacle I could come up with for Superman. Honestly, I was trying to come up with all kinds of obstacles and I thought, “What would be something that he cannot overcome?” Even in the original Superman, Lois Lane died and he overcame that by turning back time. Here, this child has been around for nearly five years and there’s nothing he can do about it.

There, take it for what you will...
Well that proves absolutely nothign doesn't it?

Exactly

I swear, I wonder where people come up with this Morality on these boards? You would think it's 1962 or something!

Other than Singer directly saying who Jasons father is, it doesn't prove a damn thing, your right.

well.......I guess I'm just a bit old-fashioned and traditional...even though I'm in my 20s.....lol.....

but.....I have faith in Singer.......I think he will do it very tastefully and intelligently........
