It's a big deal. They just announced the date. They didn't need to announce t the date if they weren't positive. Not really a big deal at all honestly. It’s Naughty Dog, they’re amazing. It’s nice to see a developer taking the extra time if need be rather than compromising things. Have some patience. You know it’s gonna be worth it.
You honestly think they weren't expecting that hype?Honestly I think they just delayed it because they wanted a release date during blockbuster season. They announce the February release, and have 4 months to finish the game. And immediately after the announcement they decide they need 3 more months to complete the game? Nah, Naughty Dog and Sony saw the hype and decided they wanted more time to market the game and cash in on the summer season.
I think they were expecting hype, but I think it exceeded the executives and/or shareholders expectations. You honestly think they weren't expecting that hype?
Not surprising. I think this happened during their Crash and Uncharted development cycles too. It's sad to hear Naughty Dog devs are also victims of crunch periods, but I'm glad stories are emerging as the spotlight should pressure higher ups to consider other strategies.
Like with Wonder Woman this wouldn't have been an issue if they released them on their original release dates...
I question that. Especially as they made this change right after announcing the release date, and it just so happened to give them the summer released window they had become accustomed to.Well, sure, but... the game wasn't finished.
