It will sell, no doubt about it. Will it be great? Remains to be seen. After all, ND aren't going easy route. Ambitious and risky.

I know it's in development and will arrive at a later date separately, that's what was disappointing to me. The fact that it won't release simultaneously with the single player. The leaks show that MP is in development. Probably will arrive at later date separately. But it's not my thing. Too stressful and exhausting.![]()
To hard to spoiler tag apparently, so I am leaving it blank.
I blame them for deceptive marketing practices to sell $200 versions of this game and for illegally trying to copyright strike videos, which is hurting people on YT who make their living their. It's up to people, of course, if they decide to skip the game, it's certainly not my business... But I don't blame Sony for trying to protect their work any way they can. It's not like they're trying to scam people. Out of context spoilers are destructive and can harm natural flow of the story, not to mention, promotion and sales. I doubt it will be the case for The Last of Us Part II because it's still a hotly anticipated release. But I can't take any dramatic reactions seriously at the moment.
You mean like the did for the first game when they said only Joel will be playable? Druckmann even commented that they lied about it on purpose to preserve the impact of the moment. Plus part 2 is like 2 or 3 times bigger than the original and seems to be sort of two games/stories in one.
I didn't say all fans. There is a crap storm on the internet for a reason over this, and it isn't contained to bigots. Not all fans. I'm a fan too. And I see a huge potential in the game.
What does this have to do with the point I made? Whatever you personally thought of any season, I am talking about the general perception of the show. And for all the issues people had with the season's before the last, the final season was the most hyped television event maybe ever. People were excited for it. When people started reading the spoilers, that stopped being the case for the majority who read them. GoT is going down in history as the show that blew it's final season for a reason. And regarding GoT, I personally thought GoT sucked starting season 6. After Littlefinger I knew we're in for a wild ride. It wasn't related to missing context, though. I just knew that writers of GoT can't do **** without GRRM's material. And they already missed a chance to start building towards a more or less fleshed out ending. I didn't anticipate season 8 to be that ******ed, but I knew it will be bad long before. Even season 7 was a great indication.
But I don't see any similarity with Part II. And certain confirmed events are traumatic, but I can see artistic intent behind it. I don't consider it empty misery porn.
There is no such thing as an objective view. Sony is not selling this game on an objective view. This is all subjective. More over, if it is "objectively" brilliant, there would be no issue now. But much like when TLJ spoilers started getting out, there is a reason people are upset already. And now some people are ready to throw it all without even having an objective view at it, because the game dares... Well, OK. I disagree and I'm still looking forward to the game. It's hard to argue about it while not having the full picture. If you already has decided you're definitely skipping it (TO SAVE YOURSELF $60!!!), there's nothing to talk about.
Subversion of why people love something is never ambitious or risky imo. It is just the destruction of why people liked it in the first place. God of War was amibitious and subversive. But it also wasn't risky. Why? Because while it did subvert aspects of the original games and grow the series up, it never crapped on the core of why people loved Kratos and the games in the first place. It also never forgot that it was a game to be played and to be fun, nor was it sold super deceptively. It will sell, no doubt about it. Will it be great? Remains to be seen. After all, ND aren't going easy route. Ambitious and risky.
Of course. We know very little about it.The structure of this game makes no sense.
I'm not interested in easy and obvious. There's plenty of that on the market. It's not going to work imo. There is easy and obvious way to make this same-ish game that doesn't piss people off with one basic spoiler.
What deceptive marketing practices?I blame them for deceptive marketing practices to sell $200 versions of this game and for illegally trying to copyright strike videos, which is hurting people on YT who make their living their.
There's no difference. It's not a question of objective quality. They don't owe anyone explaining how much hours what character has. It's simply a question of staying spoiler-free and having fresh experience. People are free to hold onto their purchases and wait for more detailed info if they want. There is an obvious and fundamental difference between playing a section of a game as another character, and playing half the game as a another character, who has never even been marketed. This makes Raiden on Big Shell look like a picnic.
I don't remember seeing any kind of confirmation about the length. Only that it's the biggest and the most massive ND game. Considering the leaks, I'd be more generous with the time. Though it's only speculation. The first game is roughly a 12-16 hour experience (I never beat it in under 15 hours and I beat it at least 6 times). This one is 20-25 hour experience according to ND.
More like click-bait storm.I didn't say all fans. There is a crap storm on the internet for a reason over this, and it isn't contained to bigots.
I'm saying GoT later seasons and TLOU2 situations are incomparable. In one case it's a show with hack writers without good material to adapt, in the second case 5 years of development by people who most of the time know what they do. Standard setters. Top studio. Hype has zero to do with anything. ND isn't infallible, but they deserve much more benefit of the doubt than anything in GoT post season 5. Ever. What does this have to do with the point I made? Whatever you personally thought of any season, I am talking about the general perception of the show. I'm talking full picture. Having full understanding of the story and overall experience. There is no such thing as an objective view. Sony is not selling this game on an objective view. This is all subjective. More over, if it is "objectively" brilliant, there would be no issue now. But much like when TLJ spoilers started getting out, there is a reason people are upset already.
It's ambitious because it tries new things that I'm not sure anyone did before. I certainly didn't experience anything like that. It's also not some cheap experiment. It's an event game. And It's risky because there's high chance people will dislike it because it dares to go it's own way and that execute it well will be hard.Subversion of why people love something is never ambitious or risky imo. It is just the destruction of why people liked it in the first place. God of War was amibitious and subversive. But it also wasn't risky. Why? They don’t have the right to stop people from talking about it.How dare they try to protect their property and people who don't want to get spoiled.
Maybe it's done by mistake. I'm seeing plenty of videos where they talk about spoilers and they aren't deleted. Their primary goal seems to be deleting actual leaks. They don’t have the right to stop people from talking about it.
