The Last of Us The Last Of Us 2

The graphics look really great. It's exciting to see how far video games have come.

I'm more excited to see the fallout when the people that didnt read the spoilers and spent $60+ on this thing find out exactly what this game is.

Social media is really divided on whatever spoilers were leaked, man. I don't even wanna know what the **** is going on.

And on that note, keep the debate civil in here.

Can we not have stuff like this in here? I mean, I'm all for an open discussion when the game comes out, but this just feels weird and uncalled for.

Even saying stuff like "this game isn't what you think" and "when people find out what this game is" is edging close to spoilers for me. It's like when someone tells you there's a giant plot twist. Well, now I'm expecting a giant plot twist, so I'm gonna be looking out for it.

I'm not a mod, and I have no authority in here, but I truly think that any talk that is even RELATED to having read the leaked spoilers, should be put in spoiler brackets.

If youve been active in this thread or social media or have been to a game journalism site or just been on youtube at all in the past week then you already know the spoilers are extremely controversial. We havent been spoiler tagging the fact that the spoilers are controversial and pissing many of us off.

And the first game had multiple twists and curve balls so you should already be expecting that. Most ND games have at least one major story twist.

It's also a presumptuous stance to take, as it assumes everyone who plays the game will share their viewpoint.

Basically if there are spoilers, tag them, vague allusions included.

Seems like this franchise has a really nasty fanbase.
Nah, there are many great folks regardless of their opinion... But toxic stuff upsets me. Being excited for something bad to happen, wishing a game or the devs ill will, fake care for someone's $60... Especially considering we don't know the full picture and didn't experience the story as it was intended.

Not really presumptuous. There is plenty of evidence of how fanbases, video game fanbases in particular, react to a range of things. And on top of that we have the very widespread reaction to the spoilers themselves. And for the record I dont expect a universal reaction.

New trailer looks excellent. Can't wait to experience it.

I've read and seen all the spoilers. yes it's shocking and extreme, but it's still a game I want to play and experience.

Sony disabling comments... they are such adults about this. :atp:

Comments I understand because of spoilers. But disabling likes and dislikes I don't agree with.
You are right. I thought they went together, so I wrote comments. But if you can do them separately, then yeah. Would want to hide spoilers.

I haven't watched the new trailers yet. For a game I couldn't wait to play, this thing has me down. I keep checking Restera for good news.

When a bunch of people dedicate themselves to ganging promo materials?
Well that is what happens when you are confronted with false advertising. :cwink:

All annoyance aside, the release of this game is going to be a cluster F. If a couple of the rumors are true, it is going to open a can of worms that is going to be met with, "your just a bigot" level commentary that is going to make the internet a very unfun place to be. Like the game potentially is!! :rimshot:

Nope. There are a lot of bigots out there. But what does that have to do with people upset by that probably situation expressing it?
False advertising has nothing to do with anything. It's all about spinning negativity, agitating and griefing.

And answer me this. Nobody knows the whole picture regarding the game, nobody played it or even watched a letsplay to make an informed opinion. Why do you care about likes or dislikes? For you or anybody else it changes literally nothing. They won't change the game because it's what it is. You either skip the game because it's not to your liking (based on what you saw already), or you wait for more info/reviews/whatever to make your mind about a purchase. At this point likes and dislikes, thanks to the leaks, are instrument of war: your agenda vs. mine. It has little to do with the game itself. Why feed these people? There's barely place for neutral position or optimism. And for people who look forward to the game because they have to watch all this vomit to boil in front of their eyes.

When the game is out it's fair and square. I'll never support a studio that tries to shut people up after they had a fair shot at their game. But not at the moment. The game isn't out yet. No proper reviews. No nothing. Only bile of people who knee-jerked to the leaks.
