I’ve never played the games, but I’ll watch Kaitlyn in anything, plus S1 was awesome!

First off, I want to say that I absolutely love Kaitlyn Dever and I’ll watch her in anything. But… isn’t Abby supposed to be physically imposing? Even if Kaitlyn bulks up a lot, she’s like 5’2”. Maybe they are going to change some things up with the character? Eh, I guess it doesn’t matter. Dever is so good.

Yeah I'm conflicted with the casting too but I see why they did it for multiple reasons... one of which is because so many people wanted Dever to play Ellie.

Either way I'm hope she does bulk up.

Abby was stocky and was that way because it made her a better video game character. Abigail’s kills were amazing. She actually is just a good girl looking for revenge. Kaitlyn should do well and keep Abby grounded more likable. I bet she will look different though then she was in the Netflix series were she played the rape victim.

Yeah, I texted a friend of mine about this news and she was like, “She should have been Ellie!” I wouldn’t want anyone but Bella playing Ellie but I’m sure Kaitlyn would have done a great job too. Anyway, I’m sure she be great in the role, whatever they decide to do with the character.

Kaitlyn absolutely would have been Ellie if TLOU came out maybe 5-7 years earlier.

I am not familiar with this actress. She's really pretty. Abby had a masculine quality to her, and I don't just mean her bulked up size.

Kaitlyn could surprise us and become a complete transformation in the role. I have learned through past experience never to doubt the most unlikely casting choices.

I think this is smart casting. Dever is a very empathetic actress. She’s hard to hate. Abby’s story is gonna feel a bit different here I suspect.

Has anyone seen a recent picture of Dever. You never know, maybe she could have gotten big like Corenswett has to play Superman. Since she was rumored to be playing Abby since September maybe she bulked up a bit. Look at what they did with Natalie Portman for Thor Love and Thunder. That is a realistic look for the Abby character in live action.

She's a good actress but IMO bad casting. They either didn't want to get a literally strong woman with muscle to play the role or couldn't find one good enough to act. There is going to be changes to the character since her physically imposing stature is party of the character.

They might be pulling a bane in TDKR with her. As in the character might not end up being as swole as the source material and using camera tricks to exaggerate size.

Watch it, watch it, watch it! It’s amazing. And Kane is spot-on about the needle drops. They even used my all-time favorite song in one, in an absolutely pivotal moment. I would love the show just for that, but everything else about it was great too.

It's so good and it has some of the best needle drops I've seen for a show.

I've been meaning to check it out after I knocked off most of my 2023 movie watchlist. Now that that's winded down a lot I'm going to start concentrating on shows.

You talking about right out of the video game casting . This kid looks just like Jesse in the game. I want to see who they cast as Dina next. That is one ride or die chick.

Dever is outside the box casting for Abby but also kinda perfect casting for Abby. Part of me wishes they'd found an actress closer to the physique of the game character in part just for diversity of body types but Dever's vibe is just right. I feel like she'll be able to capture both the nastiness and surprising underlining softness that Abby has.
