Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

I stg this show has become my weekly cry.

No joke, I’ve still been going through some emotional and physical stuff (mostly physical, but some emotional stuff, too, every so often) and this show has allowed me to process things going on in my life, think about them and let emotions out.

I’ve had serious existential thoughts about life and ethical ponderings about morality based on scenes or just single lines of dialogue from this show and conversations from the show creators on the companion podcast. Episode three helped me deal with the death of my pet dog. When I first saw a walk-through of the game about a decade ago, it made me consider wanting to have a daughter in my future, and this show has only further cemented that, despite not being sure and worrying about whether I would be a good dad or not someday. Hell, I was having a pretty bad day from all the pain I was experiencing yesterday, and Riley’s quote at the end of this past episode, about not quitting and not giving up on the time you have left, was something I needed at just the right time. This series and the companion podcast is literally therapy for me.

I’m not overstating it when I say that this show has literally changed and bettered my life.

That's how you know how well it's written. :)

Also, I have to say, while watching YouTubers react to this episode, I’ve really noticed how good Bella Ramsey is at selling so much of what she’s thinking and feeling with just her face. That look of “I blew my shot” when she closes her eyes for a second in frustration for not taking the opportunity to kiss Riley after playing Mortal Kombat II, or her look of sheer determination that says “I am not going to let you die!” when she’s sewing up Joel’s wound. She speaks without words while still saying multitudes.

If she’s doing this good this early on, I can’t wait to see what she’ll do in seasons two and three with the Part II material. She is going to have so many great opportunities to really showcase her chops and flex her acting muscles.

I’ve no doubt that she’ll be able to carry the show all by herself when Joel is no longer around, and I know that she’ll be able to deliver on Ellie’s sheer sadism and rage in all of her acts of violence on her quest for revenge. Just thinking of her nailing that scene where Ellie slowly beats that one woman to death in the hospital basement, completely bathed in red light, wearing an expression of pure, unadulterated, seething fury. Bella’s going to be an absolute demon.

Looks like they fixed both mistakes from the episode but I just found out about this one.

I honestly never noticed this and the other camera crew shot until someone pointed it out. At the very least it wasn't like Game Of Thrones where that Starbucks cup was right in your center of view.

I went to my local mall yesterday. It looked like in the show…dead. Really sad.
I'm from North Jersey (aka the Land of a Thousand Malls) so were holding on tight to mall culture
but even here its not what it used to be

Whatever happens in that conflict between Ellie and David's group next week whether it all ends in the restaurant or it's extended to go beyond that I just hope they keep this line from Joel in there when he finds her:

That line simply HAS to be in the show for me. It's the moment Joel confirms
he loves Ellie like a daughter and will do anything to protect her
. It simply can't be omitted.

Yeah, I live near Philly. KOP mall is doing well but the smaller, more local ones are pretty dead.

dont know, what to think about this show. It looks good, but I‘m not hooked. Every Monday I‘m surprised that there’s a new episode - not like for HoD where I can’t wait for Mondays

The one in the twitter post and this one where you see the film crew (bottom left):

You have to wonder how those weren't spotted in post. Although I have to hand it to them, I didn't spot either of them until they were pointed out. You're distracted by everything else in the shot for both that shot and the horse.

I never saw them either. I guess I just don't pay that much attention, lol.

Only 2 eps left. :csad:

To be fair it does feel like the right length.
Yeah, I think they made the right call with 9 episodes combining the original first two episodes into one. I'm kind of glad they did that. The 2003 part with Joel and Sarah would've made an incredible episode on its own but I think Ellie's introduction was too important to not be in the first episode.
