Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

If I was going to have a criticism so far. It would be the lack of infected. I don't feel we're getting any in the finale either.
That's my biggest criticism. They could've at least had Joel and Ellie see or even just hear some infected off in the distance. Not doing so makes the world feel a bit too empty and not as dangerous as it should be.

I'd like just one small version of something I do as many times as I can in the game, which is to draw the infected to fight the humans as I pick them off.
I love that idea (and also love doing that in game). The episode with the bloater was like that happening by accident but it would be good to see Joel/Ellie do something like that on purpose.

Yep the world doesn't feel dangerous enough. We have had what 3 episodes with infected in? I think the Jackson episode should definitely have had an encounter in.

The show has been great but Joel and Ellie's journey has felt easier than the game version.

Five so far. Episodes 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. Although they were really brief appearances in 3 and 7.

Yeah I don’t really count 3 as none of the infected in that were a threat. And 7 we got 2 mins max of an infected. I just don’t want this to fall into the same tropes Walking Dead did. Especially when the infected are so much more interesting than your standard zombies.

I suppose next season we do have Shamblers, Stalkers and possibly
The rat king
to look forward too.

Could it have been longer? Sure, but did they ever make the best with the time they had.

They struck all the important beats from the end of the game and it really hammered home how much of an impact Joel's decision will have in the future.

The acting between Pedro and Bella was top notch here, as it has been. God I hope the Emmys recognize them.

The giraffe scene was exactly as it was in the game and it made me shed a tear at how beautiful it was.

Ashley Johnson's cameo as Ellie's mom was heartbreaking but she nailed it perfectly.

It was a great finale all around to one of the best seasons of TV I've ever seen. The bar has been set for video game adaptations.

I think the last of us season 2 will actually make Abby likable. They really left the camera on the surgeon, chilling to say the least. I am counting the days to when they cast the characters for next season. Really good job of showing the love Joel has for Elle. The mistake was Marlene letting Joel live. She knew his reputation in Boston. Joel is ruthless.

Man, I really loved this finale and now we have the agonizing wait for Season 2. In all seriousness though I didn't feel like anything was rushed in this episode which was probably the most surprising thing about it considering how short it was which worried me quite a bit at first, but it actually flowed perfectly IMO.

Also, I think I have finally come to the conclusion that I definitely enjoy the more human/emotional elements of this show more than the stuff with the infected. Now, don't get me wrong I enjoy that stuff too but my favorite episodes this season have all been the more character driven episodes like episodes 3 and 6.

I hope we don't lose that element going forward either even though I can fully understand the complaints about the lack of infected, but for me personally I'm definitely here for the character drama.

Oh, and it hasn't been stated enough just how great Pedro and Bella's acting has been throughout this whole show and especially this episode, but both of them deserve so much Emmy recognition right now.

Hopefully, this show gets the attention it deserves come awards season.

Great end to a great season. The scenes between Joel and Ellie midway were so good/touching. This is challenging material to adapt but they’ve done an amazing job. Couldn’t have asked for any more from this season.

It was a good episode, but it also felt abrupt. I thought there might be more of a hint as to what might happen next season.
