Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

Is it just me, or does this look even more cinematic than the last season?

And last shot of Joel Looks so much like it came out of the game I almost did a double take. And Dina in that quick bit of her dancing with Ellie almost looks the way she did in the game from that side profile.

Predicted a couple years ago the infected would probably undergo some other evolutions and that the spores would probably develop from that, and it looks like I was correct.

I would’ve been fine either way, but cool of them to include them. Will definitely add a bit more danger and tension to a lot of the scenes for our characters.

I heard that scene might happen really early. Like maybe episode 2. :mindblown: :sadden: It appears they changed things around. This is gonna be good.
That's not really changed around, though? That scene happens very early in the game as well.

I don’t want to spoil it but I am talking about the quick scene with Nora in the red lights. I can’t believe they went that far into the game. I hope they fast track season 3.

That was Ellie day 2 wasn’t it? I think we’re getting all off Ellie’s first play section for season 2.
I haven’t played the game in a while. I keep forgetting the game is just a bunch of flashbacks. You are probably right.

Oh I got chills at the little glimpse of the Ellie/Nora scene.
I’ve no doubt that she’ll be able to carry the show all by herself when Joel is no longer around, and I know that she’ll be able to deliver on Ellie’s sheer sadism and rage in all of her acts of violence on her quest for revenge. Just thinking of her nailing that scene where Ellie slowly beats that one woman to death in the hospital basement, completely bathed in red light, wearing an expression of pure, unadulterated, seething fury. Bella’s going to be an absolute demon.
Apologies for making a habit out of constantly tooting my own horn, but…

I guess I’m just really in sync with this show’s thought process.

Maybe this is the show's version of fake marketing footage that the game had?

Doubt it.
ViewerAnon was talking some months back to look closer at the other horse riding with Joel in the trailer. Seems like they swapped who's paired with who. I believe you could make out in the footage that it was Shimmer earlier as well.

So wait,
Joel is now with Dina and Ellie is with Tommy before *that* happens (supposedly)? Or is Ellie with Joel?

Looks that way to me, anyway. I'm not working off anything more than the trailers and photos here, but looks to me like they swapped Dina and Tommy around. Think we've only seen Ellie and Dina on horses together while still in town and never anything actually indicating them out together, while seemingly can make out Dina/Shimmer with Joel in a wide shot in the January footage.

I get the feeling we wont have Ellie witnessing you know what. Hopefully, i'm wrong
Maybe the same events happen, but it’s Dina instead of Tommy. Joel and Dina could rescue and flee with Abby from the zombies, they go to Abby and Co,’s hideout, Joel still gets shot in the knee and pretty much goes through everything Abby did to him in the game. Only, this time, Dina has to watch on instead. Would make Dina feel really guilty for not being able to save him and more obligated to join Ellie on her journey to get revenge. Tommy would feel really guilty for not being there to save his brother, and that could be what fuels his desire to want to kill Abby and her friends. Ellie still comes to find Joel, bit this time not only feels desire to want to get at Abby for killing him but is there to save Dina. Brings to mind Tess’s words in season one (“Save who you can save.”).

Plus, with Dina there, maybe she’s the one to give away his name to Abby since she would be a little bit more trusting and not really know what Abby’s really all about and there to do. That would really add even more to her feelings of guilt, knowing that she was partly responsible for Joel getting killed.

Ellie and Dina weren’t able to save Joel, and it’s going to haunt both of them and motivate then in different ways. Ellie on a quest for vengeance, and Dinah out of guilt.

Honestly, that sounds like a really interesting change and could potentially create a lot of really interesting new dynamics and situations between all of the main characters.
