Nice i really hope they release some more stuff like gameplay footage. But i am afraid we won't get any of that until E3 which is a long way from now.

Anyone else think the relationship between the two characters may be a Frank Jaeger and Naomi thing, like in Metal Gear Solid? Maybe he killed her parents and discovered they had a baby. And being guilt ridden he took her with him.

If that is it then you've ruined the game for EVERYONE :)

Survival of the fittest? Any animal will do what preserves itself, not what helps another. Humans are no exception once the rules of society are stripped away.

survival of the fittest is a misnomer it's really survival of the fit enough. and cooperation can increase a groups fitness to survive and procreate a lot. there's many examples of humans pulling together after disasters.

Yes, but they choose who to band with. This is because they determine that group to be their best chance to survive. My point still stands. They choose to be in that group for self-preserving reasons. When there is a battle for limited resources, any animal including human beings will fight tooth and nail to get it. If that one group is prosperous, but then loses their resources, they will begin to turn on each other if no cooperative solution can be found (as far as instinct is concerned. Socialization will likely make most people care more about the social aspect (of something like, say cannibalism) than survival).

I dunno if you've studied anthropology, but this is basic stuff.

Anyways, this game is going to be great if they can capture that dynamic of newly formed tribes/groups that are very wary of others in the way that The Road did.

while there is evidence of humans turning to ritual sacrifice and cannibalism when significantly pressured. i just don't think fungus zombies would apply the required pressures. they wont deliberately destroy food for example.

hm, sounds to me like we're talking about different things. I was always talking about regular humans, haha.

LOL...I own the Blu-ray. Im fascinated by stuff like that

So am I actually, but it's just... dear god. That gives me the creeps beyond belief.

I hope no scientist ever tries to mess with that. "Oh, let's try to have this infect humans. You know, for science!" Just no. >_>

Ok just to let you all know. I did do a search and there was nothing. and I don't feel like looking all night cause some one worded it differently some for some reason .

I got something so i'm posting it.

It's in the Sony Forum. I'll move this for you.

thank you kaleL. I'm not sure why. but just couldn't find it in search.

The game is on the Gameinformer's cover for March. They will also debut the first three in-game screenshots later today.

Ever since its debut video in December, The Last of Us has shot to the top of many gamers' most anticipated upcoming games. The trailer ran on in-game assets and the engine, but it didn't show an actual part from the final game. We visited Naughty Dog's studio to see a full segment of The Last of Us played live, talked to the team members about their inspiration, and landed a ton of details you won't find anywhere else.

If you've missed the basic setup for the post-apocalyptic world that protagonists Joel and Ellie must battle through, be sure to check out our story on the science behind The Last of Us to prepare yourself for the issue that launches next week.

Be sure to return to gameinformer.com later today for our first batch of The Last of Us content. At 4:00PM Central Time we will debut an exclusive set of three in-game screenshots.

Still my most anticipated game for sure. Although I still wonder why they chose to have Ellen Page in the game, haha.

Those screen shots are really good i mean better than Uncharted good. Kinda bummed that ND hasn't included Co-op in the campaign. I mean it's a huge factor to when a gamer wants to purchase a game. And Ellie not being a playable character is kinda sad too.

This sounds interesting.

In addition to confirming that players will control Joel in Naughty Dog’s upcoming game The Last of Us, the latest issue of Game Informer also reveals that online play will be implemented in some form or another.

According to the game’s director Bruce Straley, how the game will function online has yet to be determined.
We’re going to have some sort of online component. We’re working on a bunch of ideas, but we haven’t nailed anything down. We definitely know it’s going to be awesome.
Creative director Neil Druckmann went on to assure gamers that The Last of Us will be a self-contained experience that serves up a satisfying ending.
The story is self-contained. The story stands on its own. We don’t end on a cliffhanger. The characters and the journey they go through ends with this story.
The demo that Game Informer got to check out was located in Pittsburgh where Joel was tasked with protecting Ellie and himself from an onslaught of desperate hunters – you can see one of Pittsburgh's yellow bridges in one of the three in-game screens released. Joel is a smuggler who is quite familiar with violent situations, while Ellie is is young girl who was hiding out in a boarding house until Joel took her away as a favor to a friend.

You know, I actually don't mind. The focus on the game is the relationship between Joel and Ellie, and Joel wanting to protect her. I guess that feeling of wanting to protect her, wouldn't come across as well when you have a friend controlling her, or you'd be able to play her yourself.

That would be like having co-op in the game ICO.
