I'm tired of Hollywood white washing every single movie. I'm glad that Spill review talked about that.

The movie was never going to make a lot of money, why didn't they just hire a fully asian actress?

Kreuk certainly looks Asian. Why does it matter if she's only HALF Chinese? How Asian is Asian enough? I mean, dang.

She certainly looks half asian and thats fine with me but I'd perfer for hollywood to, once in a while, give somebody work who isn't half white. It's almost always, the star of a movie is half-black, half-asian or half anything else. Mostly asain people, black and anyother race are beautiful and talented too, you shouldn't have to be half white to get a role.

You may not remember this (or maybe never heard it), but the first person they tried to get for the part of Chun-Li was... Jessica Biel.

Not kidding.

This sounds so bad...in the reviews...it sorta makes me wanna check it out...I don't think my theater has it...maybe thats a good thing...

How about 100% Asians? There are talented actresses in Hollywood like that who suit Chun Li far more then Kruek. Though if they had get a half-Asian actress they could have used Lucy Lui.

The movie has is still at zero on rotten tomatoes after 12 reviews, I wonder when it will get a positive one?

Even if Kreuk was naked in this, I wouldn't pay to go see it. And I am always for seeing chicks naked, but for some reason, I just don't want to see her naked.

Am i the only person here who absolutley fell inlove with the original Van Damme Street Fighter?. I was 8 yrs old when it came out & I was a big Street Fighter game player & the movie back then just felt like the greatest thing ever to me. I was seeign the characters on the big screen. I watch it now with pretty much the same feeling. The characters were all there, they all pretty much looked like thier game counterparts & Van Damme was kickass as usual. It never tried to be anythign more than what it was & I appreciated that & still do. It was meant to be cheesy, over the top, almost cartoonish & I appreciated that they stuck to that. Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat are my two fav movies of that time because they chose to be what they were, video games & nothing more. Why the hate?

no, you are not. and i have always been proud of liking the original

Went and saw it about 2 hours ago. Was it bad... yes. "Nash Out" better become the new pop culture phrase... it was that bad. But was it fun, well I had a good time. KK did some flips, kicked some butt, and got sweaty and wet all at the same time. Here's how I look at it: this movie helped me turn off my brain for 2 hours while entertaining me on various levels... mission accomplished!

Given that Fox cut the theater count to 1,000 and avoided advertising it, I doubt you have reason tow orrya bout that.
Good grief. Why even bother releasing it in theaters in the first place  ?

wait.....seriously??!!

You can go back in this thread, but I told you so.

No one is going to see a Chun Li movie starring Kristin Kreuk.

Stupidest way possible to even attempt re-booting Street Fighter.

So making a Ryu and Ken movie would have reversed the writing and direction quality?

I predict this rakes in $20 this weekend. Not 20 million. Just 20.

Well, I'm a Half-White, Half-Chinese guy. I look mostly white. If I didn't tell you that I was Half-Asian....you'd never guess.

When I was 9 years old, my parents and I went to see some casting director in New York ( I was trying to get into the acting biz at that time....THANK GOD THAT DIDN'T WORK OUT!!! lol ).

Well that guy told my parents that I looked.....get ready......TOO CHINESE!!! :wow: wtf???

To this day, I still don't understand how anyone could look "too" Chinese or too much of any race or ethnicity.

but...apparently....according to that guy....I looked too Asian....either that or I wasn't "white enough".....:o

p.s. as an aside.....that summer that I stayed in New York was the summer when Street Fighter II came out for the SNES. That was huge for me, as I was a big fan of the arcade game. Ah......those were the days..........the memories......

Yes. Negotiations fell through however. Presumably when she remembered that she isn't Chinese.

In a strange way, I can kinda see why they would go after her - she has the body type for the part. She's toned, she's got the thighs and such. But...

That's.....just........sad........ :facepalm

This movie was hilarious. As long as you go in expecting nothing, it's an entertaining, laughable ride.

 There is something very wrong with you

For a movie like this, they should just do it at the Universal Studio and I doubt anyone would've noticed.

Yeah they would. There are so many distinct scenes of Bangkok slums they couldn't find that many Asian extras in LA!
