I keep hearing that the Chun-Li focus of this film is somehow going to tie closely into the next Street Fighter franchise game, which will also be focused on Chun-Li somehow... and that worries me, because it makes me wonder if Capcom is going to try to make an action spinoff or something.

Technically, the series has always focused on Chun-Li and Ryu to an extent, but her storyline always seemed to be more at the forefront to me since she was the main one after Bison the most.

It hasn't really worked out so hot for Mortal Kombat.

Technically, the series has always focused on Chun-Li and Ryu to an extent, but her storyline always seemed to be more at the forefront to me since she was the main one after Bison the most.

Ryu and Ken have always been the focus of the series. Chun-Li wasn't in the original Street Fighter, or in Street Fighter III's first two versions... but Ryu and Ken have always been there. Hell, Ken was even the lead character in that stupid "Street Fighter 2010" game! Chun's probably the next biggest character I suppose, since she's the only other person who made it into the SF3 series.

Chun Li is probably the character that rolls off most people's minds and tounge when they hear the name Street Fighter though.

Without Chun Li there wouldn't be any of the D.O.A. girls or Ivy from Soul Calibur or any female characters in fighting games and she's still one of the few with actual substance who isn't just a woman with big boobs that juggle around for straight/bi men and lesbians to watch while they play the game.

I say focus on Chun Li and give Ryu a secondary role. Ken always sucked ass he was too similar to Ryu for me.

She was the first to be a little cheesecake as well as I recall in school we would try to pause when she did a spinning kick just to see her thong.

I'm surprised no one's posted this, since it happened like a week and a half ago, but... Andrzej Bartkowiak has signed to direct this movie. He previously did Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave and the movie adaption of Doom.

i hope ryu and ken aren't hustlers. ryu should have a red head band(or white depending on which street fighter they're doing), ken should have long hair, and they need to use some hadoukens.

the last movie was a pretty big disappointment.

the only thing i got out of it was "CHANGE THE CHANNEL!" from zangief.

ComingSoon.net has learned that "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk will play Chun-Li in Hyde Park Entertainment's Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li! Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a Justin Marks script, the action pic starts filming in Thailand in March, 2008. 20th Century Fox will distribute the live-action feature based on Capcom's video game. The movie is focused on female fighter Chun-Li and her journey for justice.
