If Sandman can form whatever, you'd think he could form clothing as well, so being naked doesn't make sense, imo.

Spider-Man 3 was almost like they reached a wall and ran out of ideas. They'd set things up nicely to develop further from SM2 but it felt like they regressed. I thought there were hints Aunt May knew who Peter was with the whole 'needing heroes' speech or whatever it was. Mary Jane and Pete were finally together. But then didn't seem like May knew who Peter was, they brought Ben's killer situation back into it, MJ and Pete split up and it's petty.
Face palm moments galore! Don't get me started on that 'dancing' from emo Pete.
I think this has to do with him aging. He was about 32 years old when Spider-Man 3 came out, so go figure.Tobey was fat, hardly ever actually in the suit himself.
Oh yeah, that was really annoying. I preferred seeing her in a play like in Spider-Man 2 that wasn't a musical.MJ in a musical, Dunst doing her own singing.
Agreed.Almost all of the dialogue, especially during fight scenes.
I think the problem was that they were trying to avoid using the Goblin mask from Spider-Man 1 because of fan backlash. They could have just altered it, or used some of the designs as seen in test shots.'New Goblin' instead of a proper GG2 (huge missed opportunity)
Disagree. Sandman had some of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. Wish there was more of him.Any scene with Sandman, especially when he speaks ("My daughter..")
Completely disagree. Some of my favorite moments of the movie also had JJ in them. Only hated his appearance during the final battle.JJ's scenes were not funny whatsoever.
Hated that.Messing with Spidey's origin for no apparent reason.
Unavoidable with villains like Sandman especially.Way too much ****** CGI.
Black suit didn't even make Peter bad, just annoying.
It was really stupid. And that's just being nice. The emo hair was enough to kill a true Spider-man fan.
Gwen Stacy as a pointless character to make MJ jealous.
Actually that's not true. I'm in college, and I know a lot of jerks who bully kids still.Peter getting bullied in college for being smart. THAT NEVER HAPPENS.
Not nearly enough black suit Spidey or Venom.
Another pointless scene that led to the inevitable: Harry getting his memory back.MJ and Harry cooking and dancing, then kissing.
If the whole symbiote story wasn't shoved into the movie, then his character wouldn't have felt that way. Its such a shame really.Sandman served no other purpose than to waste other character's screen time.
LOLVenom squawking like a raptor from Jurassic Park.
Laughable, but quite fun IMO. Its just the dialogue that killed it.The fight between Peter and Harry at the mansion. Beyond laughable.
I didn't have a problem with them working together, I had a problem with how Harry changed his mind about helping (with the butler telling him about his father).Spidey and Surfboard Goblin working together at the end.
Now you're just insulting his weight, which I don't think was really that bad. The crying on the other hand was too much.Peter sobs like a baby at least 5 times, looking super fat.
And Spider-Man actually kissing her with no problem.Crowd chanting for Spidey to kiss Gwen at ceremony.
Exactly.Peter actually kissing Gwen at ceremony. Is he ******ed?
Why did they use a British reporter in the first place? So random and annoying.News reporter during final battle. ("The brutality of eh..")
I suppose it was just lazy writing and it felt convenient for the story. It was done so much better in the official novelization. If you haven't read it, then go ahead. Its so much better. Same goes for the whole Sandman story, there is much more character development for him.Sandman and Venom teaming up for no reason.

That's the least of the movie's problems. And how old is Christian Bale now? Face it. After Spider-man 1, Tobey did not hit the gym for this role and it really showed by the time SM3 came around. He was probably more than happy cashing his $20mil paycheck and didn't care whether he looked good, letting stunt men do most of his work.
Watch the end of SM3 and when the mask is off and it's clearly Tobey, you'll be looking at a completely pudgy Spider-man.
See, I disagree and thought it was the other way around. Sure, Sandman made for a few cool action moments, but an entire film based around him?
They should have nixed Sandman completely and went full-on with the symbiote/Venom story and could have buffed up the GG2 subplot. Instead, we got a film that make little to no sense and one that has characters disappearing for long periods of screentime.
From all of the complaints I have with this movie, Peter vs Harry at the mansion isn't one of them. I thought it was well done. I just wish Peter showed his black spider suit instead of wearing it beneath the clothes.
Saying you can't apply any logic to his transformation is saying you shouldn't apply any logic to anything regarding a CBM. There has to be some, period, or you'll lose interest with anyone who wants some sensibility to it.
If Flint Marko turns into a pile of sand and if his clothes do as well(and they do, so I don't get why you said his clothes don't mutate), then the necklace should as well or you just take out continuity to the transformation.
He can form whatever in terms of sand shapes. He can use sand around him to grow larger and form more complex shapes. But there's no explanation whatsoever as to how his clothes (which are colored) fade away...and then materialize again.
But then again, there's no explanation as to how Sandman could fly around either. Spider-man 3 is literally one of the dumbest movies ever to be released. Dozens of face-palm moments. It's sad, really, because I was posting here immensely during that time and I was beyond excited for it.
The dancing Peter was far from the worst of the face-palm moments. In fact, if that was left in and other things were better, I think it would have just been seen as a funny, self-aware sequence.
Here are some of ridiculous aspects of SM3:
Tobey was fat, hardly ever actually in the suit himself.
MJ in a musical, Dunst doing her own singing.

'New Goblin' instead of a proper GG2 (huge missed opportunity)

Seriously, I could keep going on and on. Anyone could. If someone attempted a drinking game based on this (take a shot when something stupid happens in SM3), they wouldn't make it through the first 30 minutes and would likely die of alcohol poisoning. I PRAY that this ASM series never jumps the shark or resorts to such lazy, crappy, studio-interference filmmaking like we saw with Spider-man 3.
He could not work out due to his back injury, you cant blame him for thatAnd how old is Christian Bale now? Face it. The harry-peter fight was brutal,Com'on
Way better than the so called 'epic' bane fights when both are hitting thin air
You can criticize TDKR and Nolan's fight choreography all you want, but are you high or what?
The Bane/Batman fight is a million times more intense and well directed than that stupid mansion fight was. "I protected you in high school and now I'm gonna kick your little ass!" Oh, Harry's blade went super close to Peter's eye! We've never seen anything like that before!
Everything down to the music was LAME. None of the fights in SM3 hold up to the fights from SM1 or SM2. Not to mention it was impossible to take Tobey Maguire serious with that completely ridiculous haircut. LOL

You can criticise the dialogue but the fight itself was excellent
And I am not being biased here but the Bane fights were nothing special, yes they were improvements over the previous 2 movies but thats hardly saying anything, both of them were hitting thin air at times and there body wasnt reacting properly when being hit, very very bad choreography.Nil creativity. The only part were the fight felt intense to me was the end of the second fight when Bane is brutally punching and rips off the cement from the pillar and then Batman overcomes him and kicks him through the door
And SM3's score,CGI and action sequences are imo the best in any CB movie till date, those are the only 3 things which make the movie worthwhile
