Depp as Tonto kind of reminds me of Manitou Raven (in his "mummy form") from DC comics. Nobody seemed to find that racist, but then again nobody was reading Justice League at the time.

I think the picture is pretty cool. Don't get the negative fuss about Depp's Tonto. I imagine that is a more historically accurate depiction of a Native American compared to the TV show version.

Johnny Depp has been looking "dumb" since 2003. And I say that with great affection because I love the guy.

Hammer as the Long Ranger looks surprisingly awesome. Depp looks good as always, but image didn't help shake the feeling that him in this role is the Native American equivalent of "black face".

Wow, I wasn't expecting that look for Tonto. I'll reserve judgement.

In the mean time I think Hammer looks great as the Ranger. Definitely hope this turns out well.

I think that Hammer looks excellent and Depp looks silly, as usual. That's him, that's just what he likes to do.

I think it looks pretty cool. Hammer really looks the part and that's a diffrent take than I expected from Depp. Seems the lighting of the pic seems more serious than I would've thought.

Don't know if there is a purpose or reason in the lore, I assume it was to be anonymous, but I'm pretty sure The Lone Ranger did not wear the Texas Ranger's badge.

I didn't even know this movie was still happening. Anyway, I like the image. Depp and Hammer look cooler than I thought they would, especially Depp. Is that bird on his head a pet or is it dead?

I think it looks all right. Depp has a bit of a "Jack Sparrow" thing going on, but it looks okay, and a heck of a lot less "Cliche American Indian" than Tonto usually does. I would imagine at some point we'll see the "classic" look for The Lone Ranger. They're not going to want Hammer's physique to be stuck in a suit the entire film.

Originwise, he does start out as an actual Texas Ranger. So this could be after he was ambushed, shortly after he and Tonto crossed paths, seeking vengeance against the Cavendish gang.

I want to see Silver.

That picture reminds me of Beetlejuice, the part where his head gets shruken. The way Tonto is looking at the Lone Ranger.
