i haven't been to Atlanta since the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics on our way to Newnan.

we have an aquarium and the falcons stadium coming up... that's about it.

The new Braves stadium isn't even in Atlanta... it's a disgrace

beauty and the beast is playing down here next week. you should come down!

honestly, the Chrysler has some pretty great shows coming next year. because of all the positive posts about it in the Musical Theatre thread, i wanna see Pippin next year, even if i have to go by myself.

i'm seeing Rent next month too
I have seen Beauty & the Beast here, lol! But it's great. We're getting Hamilton in DC soon. But tickets are already impossible to get for us plebs. Some time next year or so when I have money again, we should plan a NYC trip for a proper Broadway show, CC. Hell we can accomplish two of your goals at once and make it during the week of New York Comic-Con. :woot:

I drove through Atlanta to get back and forth from college. It was a nightmare. I was also at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Also a nightmare, lol.

Ha, nice! It's funny, I never realized just HOW MUCH that city had been used in movies/TV until I finally visited there for the first time and just started recognizing the buildings/landmarks in everything.

And yeah, it's got iconic value for me too because the first time I visited there was almost 10 years ago now, when they were filming The Dark Knight and we ended up rather unexpectedly stalking the set for a couple of days. It was so much fun and actually turned out to be a great way to explore the city and see the less tourist-y parts.

Kane is from Chicago, right? Or am I thinking of someone else?

i would go

i had no idea that Hamilton was coming to DC. Clearly i need to pay more attention to what's playing in Richmond and the DC area.

i'm glad BatB is getting your approval. I've never seen it. I've only ever seen Rent, Wicked, Cinderella, Phantom and Les Miz.

Ooh, I've been wanting to see Cinderella. I'm not sure I can remember all the shows I've seen. Thankfully, my Mom's a big theater-buff so she's taken me to quite a few over the years. I couldn't have afforded to see a fraction of these on my own.

The ones I can remember...

Broadway:
-The Boy from Oz
-Wicked
-The Lion King
-Spring Awakening (Reeaaally awkward one to see with parents. Seriously, don't do it.)
-A Steady Rain (awesome but rough play w/ Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig)
-Catch Me if You Can
-How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
-Book of Mormon
-Hair

Kennedy Center:
-Beauty and the Beast
-War Horse
-The Lion King (again)
-Book of Mormon (again)
-A Street Car Named Desire (AMAZING version with Cate Blanchett and Joel Edgerton)
-Uncle Vanya (Cate Blanchett again, and Hugo Weaving. Hated this play. But it was Chekhov, so I should've expected as much)
-Next to Normal
-Les Miserables
-Peter and the Starcatcher
-South Pacific
-Evita

Elsewhere:
-Avenue Q
-Rent
-Phantom of the Opera
-If/Then (w/ Idina Menzel before it went to Broadway)
-The Last Five Years
-Chicago
-West Side Story
-Oklahoma
-Sweeney Todd
-Into the Woods
-Nine
-Company

I'm not really a broadway or stage play kind of guy, but I'd love to see some of those modern grand guingol style plays/operas in London.

So I've been lazy af all weekend. I'm gonna do laundry today and see how many mixes I can crank out. Gonna do a breaks mix first, then twerk, then finish this other one I started a few weeks ago, and if there is time I'll see about maybe doing a top 40 one.

You're gonna twerk?

I DJ, I don't dance. Twerk is a style of bass music. Usually around 100 BPM. I knocked out this breaks mix but now I'm feeling like maybe I need to add a nap into my schedule.

Yes, run and hide.
