The Machine won't let the Wrestling Thread Win

I take a positive attitude towards most things, Ryback I believe would be better served as a tag team guy, who comes in does a few cool power spots and finishes the matches. He's not a single star IMO he should be partnered with someone who's strong on the mic and would be able to carry feud's verbally as well as a bit more technically sound. Someone like Christian would have been an ideal partner. A veteran that could lead him. Axel is very sound in the ring but is a charisma vortex. Maybe partner Ryback as the muscle and Sandow as the brains. That pairing could work well IMO

Totally agree with you - I think even a guy like Curt Hawkins might not actually be a bad fit to pair with Ryback. He's someone that hasn't been used a ton, but has done fairly well with numerous tag partners like Ryder, Vance Archer & Tyler Reks. Plus, he's fairly decent on the mic too... it's a shame that Reks ended up quitting the business right before it seemed like he & Hawkins were going to get a push.

Or if we're thinking outside the box, maybe you could put a guy like Evan Bourne with Ryback & make Bourne a smarmy pretty boy who hides behind his muscle? Before Bourne was signed to the WWE he showed some signs of heelish characters in WSX & ROH.

I've been thinking about Roman Reigns, and his eventual push to the top, and if its gonna work (and it sort of pains me to say this), they are gonna have to craft him into a Late-90s/Early 2000s Triple-H (No nonsense, out for himself except for when it suits him, gold lust having) type for him to work solo.

And right now, I'm not seeing that.

However, I have full confidence they he'll develop quickly into that, or any role they see to put him in.

As long as its the right one.

Good choices as well, however I still refuse to let go of my hope of a Hawkins/Ryder reunion. Why not have former tag champs pair back together :(

What ever happened to Hawkins anyway? I remember at some point there were a few WWE power players who were quite fond of him, but he's been practically invisible.

Probably because Ryder is another guy that got over without the help of the machine :cmad: What's even worse about Ryder's situation is that he basically put social media on the map for WWE and made them realize what a powerful tool it could be.

But yeah, it does seem odd that neither is doing anything but there's been no talk of pairing them back up.

Well once Reks left the company, he was floundering until he suffered some kind of injury. He resurfaced on NXT a couple times & probably shows up on Main Event & Superstars if I had to guess... I think Edge was probably his biggest supporter backstage, but once he had to retire I guess there wasn't anyone else going to bat for Hawkins.

I consider Sheamus to be a massive failed experiment. I don't feel he is/was ready to be main event material prior to the injury.

That's really overly harsh, I think. Sheamus was over as a face that doesn't get booed by half the crowd, the kids seem to like him, he's been in several noteworthy video segments and he worked some very good programs against the Big Show, that seemed to bring out the best in both men.

He was one of the guys along with Axel that helped the Rock train for his matches which Rock thanked him for, many thought he'd get a little push from it but he appeared on Raw twice and that was it if I recall correctly.

I have been very negative for the past few weeks, and I apologize for that. The WrestleMania card rumors set me off and the RAW ending aggravated my bad mood further.

The problem that arose with Sheamus (and I hope that they don't make the same mistake with Roman Reigns) is that they neutered him and stripped away everything that got the fans behind him in the first place. During the summer of 2011 he was organically turned from cocky, brash heel into a take-no-prisoners, fight-all-comers babyface... and shocker, it worked! The fans were behind that... then they had him start cutting pandering, goofy, Cena-style promos about his Irish roots that just didn't work with his character.

If they make a similar mistake with Reigns it'll just prove once and for all that they don't have their fingers on the pulse of their fanbase.

Sheamus is a good worker with a unique look. He's not cut out for the classic babyface role though.

don't forget calling him the great white sheamus

I like many of you did not like the Bryan turn. I just want to wait and see if this thing even develops, its possible it only lasts breifly with all of the fan heat. The only thing that intrigues me is Luke Harper and Bryan working together. They already have fantastic chemistry in the ring with the matches they've had, and heel turns do let superstars develop new persona's and the ability to experiment with their character. Even if it is a wrong decision now, Bryan may benefit from the experience and can ultimately shape him into an even bigger and better face down the road.

Question, do you guys see the WWE becoming a better product after Vince finally steps down from his position (due to old age or whatnot) and with Triple H and Stephanie gaining full control? Or do you guys see it remaining the same, if not becoming worse?

The product won't get better because it would be run by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law.:o

Ditto. I feel like he was rushed into the ME, same as ADR. Neither is horrible in the ring, but I feel like both of them got championships too early

The booking should get better in a lot of areas with Triple H. I'm not a big fan of Stephanie because she seems to want to take the Hollywood aspect of wrestling to an extreme level and I'm not comfortable with that.

I see the Bryan thing being a way to get him in a match with the Undertaker... maybe the higher power of evil is the Undertaker and when Bryan tries to eat the Wyatt Family from within, Taker comes in as a heel?

It will be difficult to get the audience to boo Taker as a heel at this point, but an alliance with the Wyatt family might do the trick.

Well, HBK got heat for messing with Bryan, so maybe Taker would as well. I still say WWE wouldn't book evil Undertaker at this point in his career.

Bruno Sammartino entrance and finisher in WWE 2K14.

I'm not so sure about that to be honest... It's certainly unlikely, but if Taker wanted to do it that way I'm not sure what Vince would do in response. Plus, they already put out 'The Streak' DVD/Blu-ray after 20-0 so they've already made money off of that.

On top of those reasons, it could make sense in storyline if he were to come back as Evil Taker. After The Shield put him out last year, he could say he realized that he'd grown weak during his sabbaticals and that their aggression showed him his way once again.

It's probably all a moot point anyway though. Hopefully, if this report is true (and really, who knows for sure?), we'll get an awesome match with Bryan & Taker.

You know, as much as I agree about how hard it will be to get people to boo Undertaker, Bryan did a good job of getting people to boo HBShizzle.

Looks like you beat me to it.
