Props to the writers for putting Maggie in survival mode in "The Same Boat" it's been a while since her character's been in any real danger and was able to kick some butt. It proves she can still handle herself even while pregnant. She head butt Donnie (when he tried to attack Carol for wounding his arm earlier) and savagely beaten Molls face in with a pistol. However hopefully this'll be a lesson for her not to put herself in anymore danger or join anymore raids with the group while pregnant. It was careless to put her unborn child at risk.

Well Maggie's haircut was somewhat explained. And that shower scene.

At the end I think she's experiencing a miscarriage. I had a hunch the writers would take this route with the baby.

I take it her altercation with Paula and her group at that safe house is what's causing her miscarriage? During the shower scene she had some bruises on her back and spine area.

It's possible. Without a doctor and modern medical equipment there is no telling what will happen to her baby.

I have a good idea that theory came from Land of the Dead and is also completely impossible for a few reasons.

First it's just dumb.
Second, no teeth. It's a baby, there are no teeth to bite with so at best it would "gum" her and not actually harm her.
Third is she is so far from a developed fetus capable of doing much it would be aborted and removed from the body before it could do very much damage.
They aren't going to kill off Maggie by infant matricide.

If Maggie loses the baby, which I think she will. That sonogram photo will be all she'll have of her unborn child. It somewhat parallels how Glenn had a polaroid of Maggie (in season 4) and how she later burned it b/c she felt he wouldn't need it anymore b/c fate wouldn't prevent them from being together again. But if she loses the baby the sonogram photo is all she'll have of it.

Judith wasn't a miscarriage. It's entirely possible that a fetus could turn if developed enough.

I’m not a medical expert but I was surprised how ill Maggie was. I thought she was having a miscarriage prior to this episode but the writers didn’t confirm what she was sick from. Maybe it was those pickles Enid gave her. With Maggie being two months pregnant I doubt the fetus or embryo would do that much damage to her.
