I was just having some thoughts about the Joker and what happens in TDK. I believe that this movie is apart of the third one to come. One whole movie, it is to be. I do not believe that the Joker will die or get captured, well, maybe for a second, but he will escape in this film. Let me explain. I believe the Joker will get caught up in police custody, thanks to our Dark Knight, who else would capture the Man Who Laughs? But after being captured, he'll be transferred to Arkham. This is the scene in the trailer, I believe when the Joker is in the backseat of the police car and out of the window. I think whoever was driving was corrupt and freed Joker and now they ride off into the next movie.

It is said that Joker's face gets worse and worse throughout the film, this can also be seen when he is in police custody, which makes me believe that its the end of that film.

But who really knows? Just speculating.

That could very well be true. Trailers are always cut up from many different parts of the movie it's for. That scene with him hanging out of the cop car could be at the end, just a quick shot of him getting the last laugh. Then again it could just be when he supposedly might break out earlier in the film

i half agree with that. i think joker will escape in the end. i think the police car thing is probably after the thug explodes, and he escaped with another one of his goons, possibly to be captured again, but maybe that IS the last we see of the joker.

i think he will be on the loose at the end and so will two-face. maybe rachel will be hospitalized or something. i think it will end on a very down ending, with things their darkest.

man, the more and more I see Heath, the more excited I feel we'll get the definitive modern joker!

That's what I'm hoping for as well. I don't want their to really be a super happy kind of ending. This is Gotham were talking about and Batman's work is never done. :yay:

i mainly just enhanced them to get a better look, it looks good in motion but once u take a frame out you realize how dark it really is, still cool though.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, things in this movie need to end on the darkest of notes. Then, at the end of the third movie, you have your ending of true Batman. Hopefully a character like Rachel gets knifed by Joker. That'd make Bruce/Batman go over the edge and make him question what he's doing.

haha. yeah i mean, i agree. but joker could out wrestle sting any day. even in his "glory days" =D

Lucha, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not...but wrestling is totally irrelevant. I was simply commenting on their smeary makeup wiping off looking similar. Maybe you were making a joke or seriously thought I was talking about Joker and Sting wrestling, I dont know:huh:

And just because this is the official random talk-about-anything Joker thread, my final thoughts of the trailer is that Ledger has brought a lot of intensity to the role. His performance seems to be the best live action Joker yet. Heath has done a terrific job, I love the voice- the laugh being perfect, the subtle things like he way he moves, the facial expression, the mannerisms, his walk, I am loving what Heath has brought to the table. But with that said, I dislike the look Christopher Nolan has gone with for the Joker, which is, in my opinion, a poor visual design for the character in almost more ways that not.

i agree with everything you said about him besides the look obviously =) because i like the look. but i completely agree with everything else.

and of course i was joking. i know what you were talking about. but i never miss an oppurtunity to rip on sting, because i think he is super overrated, and some people REALLY love him, so it's funny to me to bust their chops because he is just a road warriors rip-off and the road warriors weren't that good to begin with =D

The Joker bringin a lot of intensity to the role is a great way to put it Socko.

I've been away from the boards for quite awhile, but it's definitely nice to come back and see so many positive things being said about the trailer and the movie in general. And I was f'n amazed by it too. Any doubts I had about Heath were quickly swept aside. The only bad thing is waiting til July 18th!

And does it seem like maybe Joker wants to die? When he yells "HIT ME!!!" it almost seems like he wants Batman to ride his ass over and put him out of his misery.

The more I see of Ledger's Joker and compare it to Nicholson's the more Nicholson's looks like a strange gangster that just laughed a lot and had white skin and a 'stupid grin', which I loved. And Ledger's is an absolute lunatic.

It is almost as if they are completely different characters. I still love Batman '89 and always will, I watched that movie weekly when I was a kid. But the more I see of Ledger the less I see the Joker in Nicholson performance.

And I hate cats, sorry guys.

I think the scene goes like this. Joker walks to Rachel and says "Let's put a smile on that face" (from trailer).

He gets close to Rachel like in the pic, but she gives him a knee in his <rotch. He stumbles back, then gets back and does his speech about Rachel being a fighter and that he likes that. Before he can cut her Batman stands next to Rachel and says "Then you're gonna love me."

I like how even if we put these scenes together we got less then 30 mins of footage

I wonder who he says that line to?!!?!? Wow, I have sooooo0o0o0o many questions about this movie! The trailer just isn't enough!
