i hate it because its all batmans fault, everything, the cut smile, the mob dumping him in the vat...part of the joker i like is that batman had no part in his creation

seems to be a popular trend for the joker nowadays

batman is really really human in confidential

not to say i hate confidential.....i think it's a great new take on batman. When he orders for a hit on pre-joker, i found that weird but interesting, cause i wan't used to batman not having a solution.

yeah not a big fan of that, he even uses a gun at some point doesnt he? and also, joker so far isnt funny...what was with that "bunny in the moon" thing?

i am ofcourse not going to like it no matter what though, i dont like joker origins, even TKJ which was amazingly written, i still dont really like it.

you dont like TKJ? i order you to break your own legs!

of course, i'm kidding.

no i'm not.

ya I am not a big fan on joker origins either. I especially hated how he ordered a hit on him... It is like KILL HIM YOURSELF if you have to sheesh your a goddamn ninja

TKJ was a big comic for joker because for some people it clearly defined the whole origin idea. Because of that story, a lot of people find it necessary for joker to have the chemical bath, they feel it's integral to the character. personally, i don't understand why, because even at the end, joker says he remembers it different ways. While i personally like joker to be a mystery, some people want to know why and how he came to be the way he is. Mysteries are made to be solved after all.

I only see Confidential as being the final step in Jokers origin/evolution, he's almost already the Joker when we meet him. It was smart of Green to do it that way, it enables the story to be more about Batman and how he reacts to Jokers existence.

Personally, I love TKJ for everything other than the origin. The origin is fine, and I like the way it ends with the Joker saying that he remembers it a different way every time, that if he has a past he prefers it to be multiple choice. But for me the real essence of TKJ is the Joker's characterization throughout the A storyline.

almost, but that's it, almost. I agree with you though that it was smart of Green to do a different take, but i personally just don't like joker origins. Batman, imo, should react to joker's appearance when joker first appears as joker, not when he is "becoming" the joker. Then batman can go "who the f*** is this guy?" and is not able to determine the answer. This makes joker more random and dangerous. I've always liked that batman and joker dont know their true identities, because the conflict is between batman and joker, not bruce wayne and whoever the joker is (i refuse to say jack napier:oldrazz: ) but again, my opinion.

ugh... I hated the name Jack Napier... I hated the name Jack at all associated with the name of The Joker... Joe I dont mind

thats why i prefer "the man who laughs" to TKJ

true enough. the things he does throughout the story change the universe's history. i love how he takes down batgirl without even knowing it. It's very ironic

speaking of batgirl, i always wondered how Gordon showed more restraint towards joker than batman did, joker did more to Gordan than to batman, he shot and paralyzed his daughter and then killed his wife. All Gordan did was shoot him in the knee. If someone had done that to my family i would have aimed a little higher.

Well that shows how strong Gordon is. Despite everything he has self control and obeys his laws. You should never see Gordon break the laws he is trying to uphold

how gordon keeps his cool is beyond me....he must have superhuman restraint or something
