So I think the January contest based on excelsior's hint is going to be captain america so I think we should get stuff started here creatively. Redesign Cap as movie concept or all new and to get us started from DA Shaddix made this:

i think that last one is good too. But, how capatain america is it? yes its an american hero, I'm not sure if it links to the comic character enough.

That just not Cap at all. If it was recolored it could be a cool Moon Knight. Points for creativity though.

Looks to much like Shumacher's Captain America. I mean, its not Batman and Robin bad, but it certainly stirs that comparison

I always thought it was kind of weird that Captain America wore a mask. If he's the embodiment of America, he shouldn't have anything to hide. I guess that's my main thought behind this sketch. Also, since the modern Marvel Universe is overflowing with technology, I figure Cap should have some gauntlets and boots that feature that. Something Iron-Man-ish. Maybe he can get a super-jump from the boots, and a few other fun things like that. Anyway, forgive the bad art. I've been off my game lately, but I'm at least happy I was able to finish the sketch.

Pretty cool I think. Sort of reminds me of Vance astro from Guardians of the Galaxy not that new one the classic without talking animals.

I like that hes got Army fatigue pants. But the guantlets and boots dont do anything for me. Cap is an old-fashioned blue collar all-American. He gets the work done with what he has, not with flashy additions.

I get what he did with the mask and it is a reasonable argument. But I think the identity should remain kinda secret. Cause 1) Spiderman effect; protect the loved ones and 2) the anonymous nature of Cap is what makes him a symbol rather than just the next General Patton or some such thing.

Me too! I don't like his head is pointy and the colors are too muted. It's definately more superheroish. Maybe if someone else dirtied it up and put chainmail on it somwhere i dunno but its got potential I think.

I agree. It doesn't scream captain america to me... There are things, however, that i'm in love with in that design. the eagle that wraps around his chest by his collar bone is awesome. but most awesome, is the friggin A belt buckle. That's just pro. Fantastic addition.

I agree the A buckle is one of my faves too. It's better there then on his head you know.

Hey guys I have a question If I took some of the ideas from this but redrew it and added my own do you think I could put it in the contest? Or would that be stealing? maybe i'll just recolor and submit it as his design recolored by me?
