So Black Panther 3 and X-Men are priorities, with casting for X-Men begining soon. I have a feeling X-Men will probably be one of the first movies after Secret Wars.

Also Deadpool and Blade are not a priority at the moment :oldrazz:

Seems pretty positive about FFs performance also. I am hoping that sequel is a priority

Probably because it's not happening. :D (I mean, who knows at this point?)

As far as trilogies go:
Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
Ant-Man
GotG
Spiderman
Avengers*

2-films:
Black Panther - will likely get a third
Doctor Strange - will likely get a third
Captain Marvel - probably DOA

A shame for Captain Marvel tbh for several reasons.

A trilogy for Black Panther and Doctor Strange should have been completed by now, if they released a new movie for them every 3 years + 1 extra year for the third film due to covid delays. While Captain Marvel 2 would have benefited for an earlier release than Q4 2023.

2016-2019-2023 Doctor Strange
2018-2022-2025 Black Panther

I feel like these other movies/one-offs (Black Widow, Eternals, Thunderbolts, Brave New World) that aren't even getting a sequel, were factors in getting those sequels sooner. Shang-Chi 2 should have been fast tracked for 2024. Deadpool & Wolverine acts as a sequel to Deadpool 2 so I will give it a pass. I hope Fantastic 4 is being fast tracked now for 2028.

Interesting article that raises a few valid points:

The Conspicuous Emptiness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - IGN

What does everyone think?
They're not wrong. As the article mentioned, some movies are deliberate but I feel for most this is probably due to all the green screening that they do. When we first saw the Avengers compound at the end of Age of Ultron he saw all sorts of technicians there. But then by the time we see it again Ant-Man and in Civil War, it's empty.

Yeah, Avengers 1, with all the SHIELD agents around, it felt much more populated
And Age of Ultron had Dr. Cho and the party scene to show some other people were around in the tower, then the compound at the end (although that shot of the team at the end was a big empty room with just a couple Avengers)

In the comics its not a big deal, and Avengers Mansion it makes sense to just have the team and Jarvis.

But by Endgame, and then especially in FF, it feels a bit more obvious how empty these spaces are

The empty spaces make sense for the Covid era movies. Was a problem shooting movies in general. I am hoping we see improvement on this front now that we are beyond that era

Yeah but Endgame was pre-covid, and Thunderbolts and FF were post. Meanwhile something like No way Home, Wakanda Forever, or Love & Thunder which would've been filmed mid-covid had some populated group shots on the city streets in Spidey, T'Challa's funeral in WF and New Asgard in Thor. So idk if we can blame the pandemic for this one.

Think like Venom said the green screen is the bigger issue

And the green screening tripled because of Covid

Realistically, what would they be casting for right now? Surely not X-Men already… Secret Wars, maybe?

Jesus, phase three was really popping the hell off.

Brand New Day, Doomsday, Secret Wars, Doctor Strange 3, Black Panther 3, X-Men, Fantastic Four 2, Shang-Chi 2, Thor 5 and maybe Blade.

Unless there's some unknown project/s we don't expect for 2027/2028.

At least he appeared in that one episode of What If...? :o

I am baffled as to why Marvel signed an actor to such a long term contract, for not only movies but a VIDEO GAME (something they haven't done with anyone else?), for a completely obscure Marvel IP that was unproven. They really thought Eternals was gonna become the new Guardians Of The Galaxy didn't they.

Tbf, this was pretty standard for them to do since the beginning of the MCU for every movie they did. So it wasn't that they thought Eternals was gonna be the next GOTG, it was just par for the course.
