Those who want Thorne, I don't think understand the character of MJ at all.

Other note, I remember a massive complaint about the age thing and what it would entail:
We don't want to be perving over a young actress, who is essentially going to portray a schoolgirl.

Bella Thorne, for all intents and purposes, is bit of a, now how do I say it gently?... bit of a ****. I'm not going to lie, I get a little bit too happy when I see what poses she's going to strike up next when she's on SC or the beach...

Asides from being that, she's got no level of innocence about her. This Zendaya doesn't flaunt herself in the way Bella does. She's more classy, the girl-next-door type - exactly what MJ should be. So yeah, I'm hoping for Zendaya to be MJ, just so someone like Bella doesn't get the role.
Her looks is all she's got going on and that's why people want her... and that's why I said they don't understand the character.

I don't get that obsession with Thorne, only because she's a redhead and she's hot? ...She's extremely vulgar. Plus she's going to start shooting a movie soon so she probably won't be avaible in June.

I don't want Bella Thorne in the role either, but that doesn't mean I want Zendaya as MJ either. It's not like those are the only two possible options. There are plenty of other actresses who would do MJ justice and would still be a comic accurate classic MJ too, which we haven't had yet.

Yeah Kate is really pretty, but Bella has that turning heads, jaw dropping sex appeal that MJ needs. And Bella looks younger than Kat, so that's a plus considering how young Tom looks,

Thing is... I think if MJ actually lived she would probably face a lot of the same scrutiny Bella is getting here.

Bella knows what she's got and isn't shy on flaunting it to practically everyone out there who want it... So, in my mind's eye, she's an 18-year-old skank, who wants all the attention from guys ranging from the ages of 13 to 113. Not that I mind, because I enjoy her beauty and body, and why shouldn't I? She's kind enough to share as much of it as she can with the world, whenever she can.

MJ, was and still is, a wholesome character. She models, sure, but if it's all about the "sex appeal" some horndogs want, then that's UTTERLY and COMPLETELY the wrong vision to have for this character. Bella would bring that, but being a subpar actress, with a pretty obnoxious and unlikeable personality, that often carries through to her performances, then enjoy gawking at Peter's pretty, airhead bimbo... because that's all she is to some folk, right?

Zendaya seems a bit odd when you think about the calibre of the rest of the cast. We've got Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei and potentially Michael Keaton. And then we get Zendaya.

Which is why some of us still believe she's playing a major character (who would just be pushed to the background a bit in this film).

Otherwise, why not announce her later if she was a smaller character like Michelle Gonzales or Liz? (Though they could easily push Liz in a larger role for a movie).
