I have no interest in going on about not finding Stone particularly attractive. She's been cast and we might as well look forward. But at the same time let's not kid ourselves, she's the current 'it girl' and was undoubtedly picked because of that. If casting Garfield was a risk at the time (that paid off with The Social Network's success), Stone was the safest choice imaginable.

But as I say, for some reason I see her having good chemistry with Garfield. We'll see.

As for Comic Book Chicks, they were always designed as BOMBSHELLS back in the days! At least as far as I can remember and they usually still are by some people. I have to say that in the early Spider-Man issues, MJ wasn't a supermodel yet. She only became a professional one much later on once both MJ and Peter were out of high school and were grown up. MJ was drawn increasingly like a super hot super model to reflect this. If you look at the early Spider-Man, especially as drawn by Romita, MJ was a down-to-earth, bubbly albeit very pretty girl next door. I know girls like this in real life, and even some of these actresses are like that, but may not be super models.

Besides, sometimes super models aren't the most pretty girls around. Sometimes they can be quite generic and are purposely picked for that, rather than for being pretty, because they can be a blank canvas upon which the photographer or make up artist can paint his picture to sell the product advertised (eg Victoria's Secret, fashion lines etc). We don't really need MJ to look like these soulless women who sometimes look like they have nothing going on between their ears.

Please, please, I triple ****ing dare someone to find me an actress who looks like the ideal MJ and can be a great ****ing actress. Those pictures are useless. Those are comic books. Comic book characters all look super sexy as hell. This does not happen in the real world. If it does, it's so rare. People really need to snap to reality here, because I've been saying this for months. Those who thought since this was a reboot we'd get a sexy as all hell MJ who is a model bombshell and a terrific actress, the joke is on you.
