Days of Future Past The Master of Magnetism: The Ian McKellen Thread

Kinberg and Singer. Directed by Mangold. Wish he was a bit more subtle in his approach, cause as you said, Xavier wheeling through the airport was bizarre.

Yeah, we all know what it would have looked like if Singer directed it. Just an unfocused Xavier in the background and Wolverine turning around to reveal him... all it needed to be.

Yup. I was scratching my head during that scene. What a weird take.

As long as we're nitpicking that scene :oldrazz: did anyone else find it weird when Wolverine unsheathed his claws, it seemed like it was business as usual in the airport, it took everyone in the airport a good 30 seconds to react.

Also when Xavier was wheeling around the crowd, was anyone else thinking "wheeeeeeeeee" :woot:

I was expecting a reveal similar to that of Xavier's introduction at the museum in X2.

I don't really see what wasn't executed well about that post credits sequence.

I think it's one of the best ones we've seen in a superhero film. There are some fantastic elements, both character and storywise in that sequence, most of them fairly subtle, moreso I think than we've seen in any other superhero post credits sequence.

Xavier's sort of matter of fact entrance in his wheelchair is meant to be a bit surreal since he's supposed to be dead, and holding on him as he approaches Logan with the given lighting serves to heighten that effect.

That sounds great but sounds a little expected for a mid-credits scene. I could see why they did this "Professor X entrance", it was like a WTF moment and people were surprised that Professor X is back and in my opinion, it worked very well for the audience.

Indeed it was a WTF moment. But the execution was still very clunky.

He's probably tired of fighting and fighting and in return, he gets emotional and breaks down.

[BLACKOUT]I totally start crying when old Magneto get hurt and then fall down in Blink's portal, and the EPIC quote: "All these years wasted fighting each other Charles":hrt:[/BLACKOUT] Ian McKellen:bow::bow:

I wish we'd seen more of him, but it was a treat to see him back again, even just for a handful of scenes. He's still got it as Magneto.

I loved Ian McKellen's scenes. So glad he was back, wish he had more scenes though.

Everybody gasped in our cinema when
he got hit
:(

It was quite unexpected. I loved the way he just walked out silently to confront the sentinels beforehand. I also liked the final handshake with Xavier before the sentinels broke in.

Am I correct in thinking the sentinel turned to plastic before hitting him because when he pulls the piece out it turns to metal. I was so emotional how storm looked back and then she died and then they all started falling.
