I love his cape

Lol this is exactly what I was thinking once I read the other post.

About the capes; I think Fassbender had the same style cape. It was long on one side and short on the other. But for some reason it looked like they didn't use wind machines on him so his cape never billows behind him. Looked especially awkward when he lands on the White house lawn with the Sentinels and the cape is just sticking to his legs.

They were made of a 'space-age polymer' back in the 70s. That would have been improved vastly in the next half a century.

They can withstand that much direct heat from Sunspot, which if my math is correct he can heat up to about 4000 Degrees Celcius. I know it's just a CBM but it's something that just bothered me a little.

We don't know that Sunspot can generate that kind of heat in the movies either. Characters in these movies, be it Fox, Marvel, WB, etc are almost always weaker than their comic book counterparts.

Well he generated enough heat to make the sentinels adapt to ice-form though. But yeah, you guys have a point.

I love the subtle parts of the movie.

One of my favorite parts was when the whole team knew that the Sentinels were already there and future Magneto just walked out of the temple chamber like he owned the place.

From that moment on, everybody knew that s*** just got REAL.

As long as we're nitpicking that scene did anyone else find it weird when Wolverine unsheathed his claws, it seemed like it was business as usual in the airport, it took everyone in the airport a good 30 seconds to react.

Also when Xavier was wheeling around the crowd, was anyone else thinking "wheeeeeeeeee" t:

I loved future Magneto in this movie. The way he just walked into battle and levitated the XJet. And when he stopped the debris in mid air. AWESOME!

Out of curiosity, do you guys think that Future Magneto had truly reformed from his old ways? I get that he was being serious when he said that he was regretful for having wasted so many years fighting Charles.

But I mean, do you guys think that he was also regretful for being the villain that he was in the past as well? Would he tell Past Magneto to stop going down a dark path if he was the one to meet his past self? Or was he just with Charles and company because he still saw Charles as his good friend and that he also believed that staying with him would be the best way to stay alive for as long as possible.

I have a feeling, where Ian McKellen's character is, he's now in a better place and better path (includiing the younger version). i personally imagine the older version in Genosha, living peacefully with his fellow mutants. And I think what happens to the younger version in Apocalypse would lead to the future of the older Magneto. I just don't think Magneto should do this "I'm anti Human" all the time. DOFP is a good movie, but critics/people who didn't enjoy the film that much complained about Magneto doing the same anti-human thing again.

I think the audience sees him reformed for the purpose of contrasting the younger, more destructive Eric and the older, wiser Eric. The back-to-back scenes of young Magneto using Sentinels to fight the X-Men and of older Magneto fighting against the Sentinels alongside the X-Men capture that very well. So the audience is made to think that he'd changed.

But I personally don't think people can change. I think his role in the future results from the fact that there is no other recourse for survival. If McKellen's Magneto had found a way to reconfigure the Sentinels to target humans, I think he would've done it again, like with Cerebro in X2.

I think the one definitive line that makes me hopeful that Ian's Erik had finally realized the error of his ways was when he told Charles that he was worried about the time traveling mission, not due to Logan being the one to time travel, but because of how he knew both he and Charles (during their younger years) "didn't know any better" back then.
