The Matrix Trilogy

I am reviving this thread because i didnt want to make a new one

What would you have done with the sequels or what where you expecting/wanting before we seen anything from the sequels

Me personally i was really hoping it would keep the gritty grungy look from the first

I also was wanting for there to be lots of gltiches happening in the matrix because of The One now being out and about

Scenes similar to thes ones in the Beyond episode on the Animatrix

Personally I loved the sequels. However I heard that the original idea was to make one prequel and one sequel. I like this idea better because honestly you could edit Reloaded and Revolutions into one two and a half hour film without all the distracting flab that was in them.

How do you mean? In the Matrix itself or in the real world?

Dont know how to do the seperation quoting thing like you did so i will just answer how i can

I mean i wanted the matrix to look more gritty and grungy, i guess what i really like about the first one is the cheap low budget look to the film but then it comes out with ground breaking SFX

Back to the glitch idea, i really wanted there to be lots of strange things that we see happen in computer games. An example could be Neo throwing an agent at a wall but instead of breaking it, he gets caught half way through it

Basically you add the [ q u o t e ] [ / q u o t e ] tags on each line.

I get what you mean.

Agreed. It would add a lot of unpredictability to the fights too, they would be fighting in the complete unknown, they can't even trust the floor they are standing on. It would make for much more tense fight scenes.

Matrix was kinda off the hook, I tried to enjoyed it, but meh..

LOVEd The Matrix.

Meh, to the sequels. Big letdown. Pure eye candy.

After seeing Neo at the end of the first film, I never thought that he would actually need to fight people after that. I'm not quite sure what I expected him to be doing, but Kung Fu wasn't it. Diving into people, like he did with Smith, manipulating surroundings and such...

And in the end, the agents were not gaurding all the doors and they did not have all the keys.

i always (and still do) believed that the ending to the first matrix movie, is still the ending to the whole "story".....if you ever get a chance, watch revolutions then immediately put in The Matrix and watch the last scene where he is on the phone, and then flies off. i would like to see what anyone else thinks about this, it actually makes a lot of sense (to me)

How do you mean? They already came to an agreement that if people want to be free they can be at the end of the 3rd movie. So why would Neo be saying "Im going to show them what you dont want them to see a world with out you with out boundries.... blah blah" He wouldn't be threatening them if a deal had just been made.

The 2 after the Matrix were ok, but they didn't really capture the feel of the first movie, they were just too shiny and sleek

"off the hook" means it was good ya big dummy :oldrazz:

anyway, I liked Reloaded, but Revolutions was a mess. The actioon was boring, and maybe I'm just dumb or something but I didn't understand the ending. really anticlimactic.

The first movie was fantastic!

.....and then it was all downhill from there.

Realy? I felt they went totally overboard with the philosophy, whereas the first had it all in balance.

Basically Neo let Smith assimilate him and it led to Deus Ex Machina being able to delete Smith because it could access him. Neo dies but it's assumed machines keep his mind and his body should the world ever need him again hence the Oracle's answer when asked if Neo would ever return.

Of course the reverse could've happened and Smith may have assimilated Deus Ex Machina.

I thought he surrended to Smith, thus unbalancing the ecuation and restoring the order on the Matrix.

there are like 200 explanations out there. and not one is 100% true.
they let it open for interpretation. and this is why i liked it so much.

As I said two years ago, the sequels are a terrible but the first one is awesome.

i had this idea for a cool matrix fight sequence

i would have loved for neo and an agent, during a car chase scene
too both jump onto the road from moving cars and be sliding around on their feet but staying in control and fighting as they slide.

Reloaded was one long video game trailer. I kinda liked the thrid one.

well, the ending of the third leaves it (as i take it) that people who choose to be free have that right, but those who cannot "see/believe" in freedom remain a battery, thus the return to cooperation of robots and humans, that said it is neo's purpose in life to save people, to show them they have free will, that is what the whole climax of revolutions is about, choice. that is what we believed seperated us from robots, but as rama kandra has shown us through his ability to love his daughter program, sati, we learn that robots have discovered/evolved the ability to choose as well. the end of revolutions does not mean that the bad guys are gone all is well, it just means that "everyone" has a choice now, thus neo has a mission to continue

i still think that there is a big chance that neo's ''mind'' was inserted in hes body. like Smith in Zion.

I'm still hoping that one day The Wachowskis will say "Yeah, we'll do one more."

The one thing I liked about Revolutions was the end battle between Neo and Smith and I immediately thought Superman.

Talk about disappointment added to more disappointment.

Yea that is how I wanna see Superman fighting. Well, not exactly like that but you know what I mean! :D

I think the car chase in Reloaded is still one of my favourite scenes from any film ever. The build up, the way the score is sorta on a tight rope untill they get onto the freeway and then all hell breaks loose. Just amazing.

I was a big hater of the sequels when I saw them in the theatres...then I watched all 3 last week to introduce my gf into it, and Ive changed my mind. I think I just had certain expectations from the sequels that would have never been met. The first one is an all time classic, and anything else they would do would pale in comparison. I really dig all the ideas behind it and how its basically theology meets modern technology meets kung fu.

They are not bad at all as a trilogy. I think there were still questions unanswered when the third ends, or at least I was bummed out that I thought certain things and characters had more purpose.

I really hope so as well. Ive read somewhere that reloaded and revolutions are actually one big movie split into two and the 3rd one was never made...just rumours but with time passing it would be nice to let Neo fully complete the Jesus/Saviour cycle and resurrect to save humanity.
