The McDonald's Thread: 'Happy Meal Outrage' Edition

Who was your favorite defunct McCharacter?

  • Grimace (HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!)

  • Birdie (Gee, Ronald!)

  • Hamburglar (Robble robble robble robble robble robble robble...and so forth)

  • Big Mac ('allo 'allo, wot's all this then?)

  • Mayor McCheese (*insert random burger catchphrase)

  • Fry Guys (We love McDonald's fries, they're like crack to our people)

  • I hated them all except Ronald, the triple O.G.

Who cares?

It's kinda like whining that there are gift shops there.

McD's in Korea had Bulgogi and Shrimp burgers. I haven't partaken in a McD's here in Japan... but I wouldn't be surprised if they had a sushi/ninja burger.

In Halifax they had lobster :barf:

BTW, does anyone else miss the McDonald's pizza? I do.

I've heard about this McD's pizza. I've heard it was quite tasty. I'd wash it down with a tasty beverage.

It could also have to do with the fact that France (especially Paris) is a major tourist destination. They probably get a ton of business from North Americans who are seeking something from home.

Also, McDonald's in France is just better. They have wine and beer.

No problem Terry

You know what they call a quarter pounder in France?

Wait...a McDonalds with Lobster?

Seriously?! I love Lobster, but from McDonalds? Seriously?!

I would never eat French food again, it was disgusting. This is

I've never understood how people do that. If I visit another country, the last place I'm going to is a fast food restaurant that's around the corner from my house back in the States. If I'm in France, I'm dining in a place with a freaking Michelin star!

McDonalds in Germany is interesting because they sometimes have different things on the menu. I only ate there becuase I lived in Europe for three years but if it's vacation there is alot more you should try.

if your concerned about lobster at mcdonalds, you're gonna freak out hearing that white castle has clam strips.

It's not IN the Louvre, it's in the underground mall that's attached to it. I'm pretty sure there were a bunch of fast food chains in that area already.

Yep. I went to the Louvre last year - that underground mall had a Starbucks and Virgin Megastore (although that might be gone now), as well as a few other stores. You could even book tickets to Disneyland Paris there.

A McDonalds won't make much difference. It's part of the mall, not the museum.

But thats because ther's Absolutely no way a cheeseburger can be Kosher.

Yeah but just because someone lives in Israel doesn't mean that they are necessarily a practicing Jew right? Also... Have you ever had a cheeseburger? I mean I know it's not Kosher, but have you ever had one.

It's really quite wonderful.

I could never go to another country, aside from maybe Canada or the UK, and immediately order some fast food I could get here. I paid all that ****ing money to hit this exotic locale and all I'm going to get is a damn value meal?

If I'm beboping around an exotic locale I would love to try the cuisine. Eat some strange and wonderful foods.

Then after eating some balut and ox penis for a few weeks... I'm probably going to want a goddamn cheeseburger and french fries.

I heard McD's in Japan have miso soup.

I went to a McDonalds in London and it was exactly the same as one you would find in the US, as far as I could tell.

I noticed in Paris that Diet Coke is called 'Coca-Cola Light' and it still has calories. And Coke Zero seemed to be all the rage, I saw ads for it everywhere.

Throughout the 90's (aka The Silver Age of Disney Animated Films), McDonalds would release a ton of Happy Meal toys for every Disney movie that came out.

[Edith]Those were the days.[/Edith]

OMG...are these seriously from the 80's? I am from the 90's and remember these. Perhaps they were my brothers?

What about when Super Mario Bros 3 came out and the toys that came with those! Amazing.
