McDonald's was way better when I was studying abroad in Italy. Back in the US its garbage.

Also, I'm tired of all the health and PC crap that has done away with toys in Happy Meals. Sure its nice to see better nutrition, but the manner in which it has progressed pisses me off.

I grew up in the 90's, so there were no apple slices or water bottles in those Happy Meals. All salty fries and greasy burgers with a nice Coke to wash it down with. Then you'd get one of these bad boys:

I hardly ever go to McDonalds, but I still see adverts for toys with the happy meals...

Every McDonald's ive been to has toys. They actually have gender specific toys now. Sounds like your McDonalds is a bunch of cheap bastards.

I think there's one or two big cities that don't allow their McDonalds to give away toys in their Happy Meals. They still give away toys at most locations, and I occasionally see TV commercials advertising them.

In the 80's their Happy Meal toys were lots better, now it's all about licensed crap like Yugi-oh's, Pokemon's, Bratz dolls.

It's weird that your "back in my day" rant sounds 10 years old already.

I agree, why are people not allowed to make up there own mind if they wanna eat some junk food. Its not rocket science to know the food is not a healthy choice. Instead of people changing if they want to, the entire system has to change.

You guys know that Happy Meals still come with a burger/nuggets and fries, right? They just added apple slices to the meal, and replaced the soda with chocolate milk (which, you know, is delicious). There's like one or two cities where they stopped giving away toys, but the toys still come with the meal everywhere else.

What are you complaining about? I could understand if you're some health person who's always had a problem with McDonalds, but if you're some old school purist who wants all the greasy food back, it hasn't actually gone anywhere.

I had a similar experience to the McDonald's in Korea and Japan. I never felt ill or disgustingly lethargic after eating McD's over there but when I came back to the United States after a few years and tried McD's... I thought I was going to die. It was also really amazing how the food looked just like the pictures, it blew my mind.

I have had McDonald's. Their Mc Chicken sandwiches and french fries are so yummy.

Agreed. Plus has anybody actually gotten a Happy Meal recently? I mean I think the last time I had a happy meal was when I was 10 or so. And I have McDonald's only a couple times a year. I think we're all turning into old farts. I'm waiting for a "Don't you hate it when kids step on your lawn?" thread to pop up within the month.

I only go to McDonalds once in a blue moon, but I stopped going as much when I realized they charge you for sitting down to eat.

I had no idea some cities banned the toys. There were times that was the sole reason I went.

It's bean a while but If it was a cool or fun or obscure license I'd forgo the food just to ask for the toy.

I remember once getting these way back....

I think BK once had a Universal Monsters theme, I remember driving threw just to get them all and had zero interest in the food. There were probably others too.

Anyone do that just to buy the stupid toy and not even touch the food, which one?

I once went to BK solely for the Pokemon toys that came with the kids meal.

That''s interesting. I've had McDs in Georgia and Thailand, and it was still pretty much greasy **** :/ I just assumed it was **** everywhere else through Asia, too.

Yep!

I still have my gold Mewtwo and Charizard cards.

I also have some of those, Drizzle.

I scored the rarest 2 toys from BK. The Mew which lit up & the cool Mewtwo which came in a test tube, also lit up.
