But there's a difference between points and goals, and story morals. Not every tale is a parable in that way. A moral is the lesson(s) learned through the story, but I'm not sure there really IS a moral to SR. It's not set up to be allegorical in that context. I mean, there's a lot of snarky answers to the question: wear protection, lock your house when you leave, feed your pets, etc., but SR "is a movie about what happens when old boyfriends come back into your life." - Bryan Singer. It doesn't seem to be too concerned with "
expressing or conveying truths or counsel as to right conduct." In point of fact, this is one of the biggest bones of contention a lot of fans seem to have with the film - other than the silly suit arguments, that is. LOL
