Superman Returns the moral of SR story

Oh come on, the obvious point of Returns is that Superman goes all the way into deep space looking for his family, and then finds out he had one on earth all along.

Also, the world doesn't need a savior, just a light to show them the way.

These two are pretty much the morals of the story as well IMO.

I think a big thing in the movie was forgiveness and realising you've made a mistake also.

Also, Alienation was a big part of the movie as well.

But there's a difference between points and goals, and story morals. Not every tale is a parable in that way. A moral is the lesson(s) learned through the story, but I'm not sure there really IS a moral to SR. It's not set up to be allegorical in that context. I mean, there's a lot of snarky answers to the question: wear protection, lock your house when you leave, feed your pets, etc., but SR "is a movie about what happens when old boyfriends come back into your life." - Bryan Singer. It doesn't seem to be too concerned with "expressing or conveying truths or counsel as to right conduct." In point of fact, this is one of the biggest bones of contention a lot of fans seem to have with the film - other than the silly suit arguments, that is. LOL

well, almost every superhero's movie has a moral of the story. well, we got the message clearly in spidey 1,2,3 and bb as they kept repeating the phrase; so that the audience wouldn't miss it.

so, what is the moral of SR story? the son became the father, the father the son??? what's that?

and i think, from lex, the moral should be... never ever date any girl who doesn't share your idea and dream.

There is no moral story. Superman is the good guy and Lex Luthor is a bad guy with stupid plans. The moral story should be "don't copulate with aliens" becouse if Jason is still alive in the second part, this will be a soap opera without sense. Bryan Singer must read many more comics before this too long waited movies became stupid. Sorry for my english

Oh i think there are a few morals to they story as people have stated. How Superman acts in the movie is a whole different arguement.

I think you are right. I think contiuine this particular storyline will push some viewers away, but not continuing will not affect the viewership you speak of. THey will see it as another SUperman film. THe trailer and the marketing will do more for them than us. HOwever, if the trailers fail to impress, I think that would spell disaster for the next SUperman film.

I would guess that we all tend to congregate with people of like minds and who see the world in a similar way.

I think this accounts for 'lovers' only knowing other lovers of SR and 'haters' only knowing other haters of SR.

I don't think it's as suspiscious as people might think.

I still think the most significant factor is how many people that you talk to that did not see it.
