First I thoght the spider gets whiter the more evil Peter is... that would also explain the white spider on Venoms chest.

But now I guess it's simply mettalic grey and reflects the light.

I think it's simply down to lighting affecting the look of the suit, bear in mind it is supposed to look fluid-like and living.

I'm all for the spider symbol looking white now and again, in certain lighting conditions, as it would be a nice reference to the comic-book iteration of the symbiote suit.

I think and hope Venom will have a white spider.

it is black. every material that is black and is under heavy light becomes grey. it is normal. plus the texture is shiny so that it makes the suit like in hte comics

It doesn't matter what colour the suit is in real life, all that matters is what it looks like in the movie. If it looks grey then it's grey.

Yeah, it is highly amusing. But then, everybody has interests and everybody argues with other with the same interests about minor things. Say you like cars, you'll get two classic car affictionados arguing about windscreen wipers. And so on.
