The Naked Fun in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

Rob Battinson should be the DCU's Batman for 2 reasons:

1) He's the best live-action Batman ever so why try to top greatness
2) Comics have each characters in their own little worlds with drastically different tones/stories all the time and no one thinks twice about it

I know this is a super popular opinion so I welcome everyone's hearty agreements :o

"He's the best live action Batman ever" What makes him better than Bale?
Personal preference, but if you want a reason someone preferred Pattinson over Bale, Batman's overall presence. Better costume and Pattinson had an almost horror character demeanor as Batman. Case in point the slow walk out of the shadows before thay train fight. I also preferred watching Batman do REAL detective work. Bale's had a more fun Bruce Wayne going for him, but Pattinson was a much more intimidating Batman

Yeah, I’m sorry but I can’t get on that boat.

Battinson is great though.
The voice for me is a deal breaker in this debate, lol!!!! The raspy Batman voice is just silly and makes me laugh at several points cause of how Bale has to catch his breath mid scene. He literally sounds like a 50 year smoker :hehe:

For me, what we've seen of Pattinson hasn't broken him out of the pack. Maybe The Batman Part II will cement that status as the best, but right now I can't go there.

It was enough for me, but obviously that's a personal preference thing. The vibe of The Batman fit more what I look for in a Batman adventure. I would like to see a more fun Bruce Wayne as a public figure next go around, but in terms of Batman, I think it was pitch perfect

I'd say, hopefully, both
T'Challa Jr, but from an alt world where he is aged up to full adulthood
I still feel like T'Challa is Chad's legacy, leave it to him, but have your cake and eat it too by aging up the kid via the multiverse
I like this. Feels like a workable solution to a bunch of issues.

Bale is the best Bruce Wayne-Batman combo but I could give the Batman nod to Pattinson too, assuming he is at least the same standard in subsequent appearances.

Technically, are you really recasting a character if he's the son of the previous character with the same name?

Pattinson is a better Batman, Bale is a better Bruce. Though that's kind of unfair since Pattinson isn't seen very often outside of the suit. Pattinson was a plenty intimidating Batman without the need to growl.

Keaton is still the gold standard for me.

Pattinson is second.

Bale is one of my all time favorite actors but he's below them.

The only leg up I'll give Pattinson over Bale is that his and Zoe's Bruce/Selina chemistry was off the charts. Like you felt the passion between them. But that's the only main component that I'd give him the edge.

I need some more movies to properly compare, but Bale and his dynamics with Alfred, Gordon, Robin John and Joker are just unparalleled IMO.

His crazy Bats voice be damned. :o

I would agree. And it's kinda hard to compare Pattinson's Bruce to other actors anyway because he isn't really trying to be Bruce Wayne in this movie. Within his mindset in the story, he doesn't really care or want to be Bruce. But I'm assuming giving the ending, that may change in the sequel.

Pattinson is my favorite simply because I just really like Reeves' interpretation of the character and Pattinson brings it to life beautifully. Bale is bloody fantastic in the role, so it's close.
Same. I like them both for different reasons. Both are still my top two actors for the job.

I'm 100% expecting that to happen. He barely made an attempt to put on the Bruce Wayne public persona in The Batman and that was just for appearances. No complaints though, it all fit the context of the film.
