OK, the Fantastic Four trailer dropping tomorrow before the Super Bowl is something that I can at least understand since it's February 4th (F4, lol!) but Universal dropping the Jurassic World trailer before the Super Bowl is another odd move.

It's almost as if they're saying, "We know you're all beyond tired of seeing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl so here's your precious trailer so you don't even have to watch the game." :o

Great, now I won’t have to watch the game since I only watch the trailers!

Will just have some food and excuse myself during the party.

I hope they get the whole crew from the movie back and not just Xolo. That movie had a great cast.

If I recall correctly, the cast for the film was also in talks to reprise their roles when the series was first announced.

That stock audio of children laughing in that teaser video...

I don't think I saw a single frame, all I could concentrate on was that repeating laughter like in a Youtube Poop video.

I'm excited for the trailer, though.

Thing is, i think once Secret Wars is over thats gonna be …pretty much it for Doom in general indefinitely, I feel. I dont think theyre gonna go through all this just to recast Doom down the line for Fantastic 4 3 or something. They’re electing to just go big or go home with Doom here.

Final word on Daredevil season 1. I loved my rewatch, and I appreciated the show a lot more this time around. I've mentioned some of the slight issues that I've had and many of the things I've liked, and I stand by them. I also grew to enjoy the action more, especially with the spicy flourishes of gymnastics in the choreography, it's really impressive. I do still think it's disappointing that in a show with a runtime of almost 13 hours, Daredevil is in the suit for about 7 minutes in the finale. It's a great final battle, though. Fisk is like a goddamn bulldozer.

I think I'll keep writing about this marathon here, it's a good way for me to process the shows. I'm happy to finally give Jessica Jones (season 1) its proper attention. I've seen all but the last 1-2 episodes, and I used to watch it maybe an episode a year. Should've just restarted it lol.

I'm not sure myself. Keeping the character around is probably beneficial and a multiverse reshuffle can easily explain a recast.

Guys this is totally random but one of my favorite hobbies is perusing Amazon Prime for obscure 80s/90s B movies to watch and Prime is a treasure trove for those. Well I stumbled upon a movie from 1990 called The Ambulance starring Eric Roberts about a man who tries to find a girl kidnapped by an evil ambulance (its gloriously bad).

Anyway! Look who makes an extended cameo in this and plays Eric Roberts’ boss. I almost fell out my chair. IMG_8999.jpeg

IMDB trivia: At the time the film was made Stan Lee was desperately trying to get some of his Marvel characters made into movies. He was not having any luck at all. It was very frustrating for him. He had this deal with a producer to do a movie of Doctor Strange and Larry Cohen was hired to write the script. He wrote the script for the movie, which never got made, but in the process he became friends with Stan Lee. They started socializing and going out for dinner and going to each other's homes. Sometimes we would go out with Bob Kane, the creator of Batman. He had a great time with these guys. When Cohen made this film he said to Stan: "I think I'm going to make this character a cartoonist who works for Marvel. I asked him to play himself. He was really anxious to do it. It was the only time Stan has had some real scenes to play in a movie and some real dialogue. In the Marvel pictures he's mostly a walk-on or an extra. With me he had a real character to play, even if it was the part of Stan Lee. We maintained our friendship over the years."

Just imagine there will be an entire generation of kids who grew up on Roblox and Skibidi Toilet.

Exactly what I didn’t want. Doom is a villain who would benefit from being built up over a longer time and hanging around (continuously contributing to the MCU) long term. I would have preferred him be an exclusively F4 villain first for a fair while obsessed with Reed. Then be in the MCU background with mentions in other films. Then take over as the mega big bad for a Secret Wars level film that threatens the whole MCU later fine the line. Throwing him in with no intro period and insufficient F4 history and to use him as a one and done is a big waste of one of the best villains.

Yes, please keep up the updates here, love reading them.

I’ve heard of someone wanting to savour a show slowly but 1 episode a year? 😂

Yup. Doom could’ve and SHOULD’VE been the MCU’s biggest boogie man, being teased and built up in the background throughout multiple phases culminating in a big Secret Wars movie in 2030 or something.

But yeah i think once Downey is done with him in this Secret Wars, Doom is done. I mean, how do you go bigger than that?

:o :o :o

In honesty, I view Doom in terms of like Loki. Yeah, great character. But you get one good MCU Avengers level film out of him. The best use of him is in Thor films. The same applies to Doom. And even Magneto.

The problem is, you are starting him off with Avengers level film, and with RDJ to top it all off.

I don't think we are going to be getting Onslaught in X-Men 97, so its wide open for use elsewhere most certainly.

Even though i’m keeping an open mind and i know RDJ is a legit good actor i just cannot picture him pontificating and speechifying in the 3rd person like the classic Doctor Doom we all love from the comics and stuff. I cant picture him doing that without it sounding like he’s making fun of it. You’d need someone like a Mads Mikkelson who could sincerely sell that kind of Machiavellian dialogue.

I think RDJ’s Doom is going to be his own unique creation.
