Video games get announced so early - sometimes like 5-6 years ahead of time - that we can all be forgiven to forget because the brick wall of silence happens in-between.
I wonder what stings more: Wonder Woman or this?

I did too, though I've kind of conditioned my brain into thinking no new games are releasing until they've actually gone gold because the industry is in such a weird state now.

At first I thought this was the WWII Black Panther/Cap game but that's still slated to come out next year.

With how the industry currently is, I would not be betting on its release. Radio silence for a year? Yeah, not great.

Wonder Woman and the loss of Monolith stings more. Losing a BP game hurts, sure, but I don't see any notable history for their developer.

Just another studio eaten up by EA.

Interesting. Wonder who she will be? Gotta be the main, right?

MTTSH doesn’t have the best track record.

This was the casting call as purported by DanielRPK from a couple of months ago:

Past and present Spider-Man 4 casting call from gossip hound DanielRPK:

“New Female Lead - A sharp and free-spirited woman with a mysterious past. Strong-willed, intelligent, and not easily intimidated. SET Sadie Sink

Female Villain - 30s-50s, any ethnicity. A powerful and imposing figure. Seeking an actress with strong and commanding screen presence and depth. Negotiation with someone (doesn't say who)

New Male Role - A resourceful young man in his early 20s.

New Male Role - 30s-50s, any ethnicity. A no-nonsense authority figure who sees the world in black and white. Loyal, determined, and willing to cross lines to maintain order.”

Kidman would fit the description.

That’s true, but I don’t see that happening Spider.

She’s one of those DC people anyway. :sneeze:
I dont think it's an unrealistic get. Spider-Man is a more prestigious franchise than the dude running around yelling "yeah!" all the time, and she likely won't have to wear a ridiculous swimsuit and eat a fish. Clearly she is willing to take the money for these kinds of things

Superman runtime might be false, but AMC just listed Fantastic Four's runtime at 2hr 10min. Also, Marvel Legends Figures for it are going up for preorder Friday. So it looks like FF ticket sales are imminent

I’m very very excited for both Superman and F4 this july. i think both movies are going to be solid crowd pleasers.

And then they’re both going to gross less than 400M at the box office and the fandom is going to be insufferable the rest of the year talking about how the genre is dead. :o

I plan on watching both multiple times. FF's case, probably 4 to get to the symbolic number lol! But, I only got to see Thunderbolts 1 time as of this post. And that I wanted to see at least 1 more time, but haven't gone to movies since and next time I go is Mission Impossible on friday

While I don't think the genre is dead, it is going through a transition period. Audience turnover. Marvel is cooling off. DC is in the middle of a reboot and we don't know where that ultimately lands. Just a lot of question marks right now.

Ultimately, its underperformance may be the result of a greater sea-change happening in the entertainment landscape. Marvel Studios is not the brand it once was from a mass appeal perspective, and people are simply not seeking the MCU out like they once did.

Just look at what is happening with the recently released Thunderbolts* film. The Florence Pugh-led MCU epic earned glowing reviews, fans have loved it in theaters, and it still has had a relatively slow burn at the box office.

There is a chance Marvel Studios can win those lapsed fans back with big-name titles like Fantastic Four and Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon, but this may also be the start of a cooling trend surrounding the trend.

Because of this, fans should not expect Born Again to be the last time an MCU streaming show does not hit the Nielsen Top 10 like this (especially with lesser-known names like Ironheart and Wonderman being the focus of its next two live-action streaming series).
