I was worried about f4 too but I think this just goes to show the power of GOOD marketing (and Pedro Pascal's appeal lol). Marvel's marketing team been doing a good job for the past year letting the general audience know that Fantastic Four is going to be a big one. And that says alot that a property that never been able to land with audiences is garnering this kin do hype.

Marvel's also clearly been putting more effort into marketing F4 compared to their other projects this year. But it's also no surprise that people care more about a Fantastic Four movie starring Pedro Pascal than Thunderbolts or a Sam Wilson Captain America movie with no other Avengers in it.

Yeah I do think the marketing has been good (not as good as Superman's overall, but good) but I also thought the same for Thunderbolts. Still disappointed that probably won't get a direct sequel, easily my favorite MCU movie in years.

I'm cautiously optimistic but yeah like you mentioned, arguably the biggest thing against this movie is that the FF brand itself is kind of a joke to the GA. I've anecdotally heard a lot of "Why do they keep trying to make this movie".

Not an impossible hurdle by any means and the star power alone could save it so we shall see.

This would mean FF's likely BO range falls around the 750-850 WW range. Thor 4 made around 750, and GOTG3 fell just short of 850.

You have no idea how pissed I am that Meteor Man is not on any streaming service. That film is a national treasure and I have never been able to introduce it to my kids.

The Golden Lords may be the best street gang on film since The Warriors.

Touche, but if we want to use other Marvel movies for baseline metrics, I don't see that happening. That and I think this movie will be more popular with younger audiences than say Solo or some other more recent Marvel movies. Has more of a family movie vibe to it

Hot take: I actually think that this movie had the best acting performance in James Earl Jones’s career.

The scene where he cowers by the window crying when Robert Townsend is getting his beat down…I legit crack and get choked up at that one. And it makes it all the more special when a couple of minutes later he fights back by throwing his record collection at the Golden Lords like ninja stars.

Mikaela Hoover has always been a supporting actor who gets cast in bit parts (and usually in James Gunn projects), so she never has a shot, unfortunately.

Also it's funny if you go on her wiki page and it's just a pic of her from the Superman set.
